How is your EU4 Game going?

Thanks. OK; there were no files in Documents\Paradox Interactive\Europa Universalis IV\mod. So I opened the game and went to the workshop content from there and then downloaded the "better terra incognita" mod from in the game. That mod now appears in Documents\Paradox Interactive\Europa Universalis IV\mod as a .zip file which I cannot open without buying winzip for $29.95. Is there a work around to open the .zip? No other files are in that folder.

I have several subscribed to mods on steam
I started the game and let it load to the choose single or multi player choice.
I exited the game
I closed steam
I opened steam, clicked on play EU4
DLCs showed up; no mods. :(

Is there a place after the game loads to select mods?

You need to enable steam cloud in properties.

7zip is a good free program you can use.

The old versions of winzip used to still allow you to extract files from a zip file even though the trial had expired. WinRar is another alternative to 7zip.

Massive patch incoming!

Also some DLC for the USA and a terrain pack (another monuments one). A little meh about them but if the USA on is only a couple of quid then maybe...

Christ, those are HUGE changes !
When will it be released ?

Paying money for some flavor related to a country that appears in the last couple of decades in the game?

Paradox is going way too DLC happy with their latest releases.

Don't buy it then.

This DLC is a good thing if it means they can do such massive patches

^ This.

I personally won't most likely, but it's nice for those who would like it, and if it helps Pdox better support and produce games, they may as well release DLC's.

I re-enabled it and then could download from in-game. But they showed up as .zip files.

7zip would not open the files

I downloaded WinRar and it found that all the .zip files from steam are empty.

Has anyone a clue what causes valid zip/rar files to become empty when being extracted?
Is it the zip/rar version? Has it anything to with free versus full paid version of the rar/zip software?

Yeah $5 is pretty ridiculous to pay for events that only affects a couple of nations. I could see it being $ or maybe even $2 but $5? lolno, not anywhere near worth $5 just to have a better US revolution that isn't even guaranteed to happen in any specific game.

Don't buy it then.

The patches would happen regardless of whether they charged $1 or $5 or $10 for the DLC. EUIV has been selling very well for a Paradox game and is getting a hell of a lot of exposure on Steam, Reddit and other large sites. I'll be surprised if they haven't already made a profit (they aren't exactly a large studio and their games aren't exactly expensive to make compared to most others).

[freedom intensifies]

SO I thought I'd start a 1.2 game as Tibet. So far the major changes I've encountered are the 1% attrition when sieging (applied to stacks that are just moving through as well :(). Vassals attaching their stacks to your armys (good) but not having anyway of telling them to get lost when you don't want them attached anymore (bad). Armies fighting to the death a lot more and the shattered retreat working the same everywhere (which is a massive ping pong PITA).

I'll need to play a european nation to g et more of a feel I guess but so far it seems like not much of an improvement as some bugs were fixed but plenty of new ones introduced!

As for my Tibet game I've annexed Bengal and and working my way down towards Pegu!
