How many copies of Civ V will you get?

Some people have been threatening not to buy, and others have been saying that they will buy two copies.

Remember that you can only play one copy at a time, so if you have multiple computers that you want to play multi-player on against people who don't have their own copy of civ 5, you will need extra copies. So there may be a practical reason to buy two copies.

The rule is, you can have one Civ V per account, one account per purchase of Civ 5, and an account can only play civ multi-player on one machine at a time. You can have multiple accounts. You can install on multiple machines with only one copy, but each computer has to be validated via steam, online. This has all been officially established.

I'm wondering how on Earth why I'd want to buy more than one copy of the game. Especially since it'll be tied to my Steam account, so there is no point to have more.

So far I'm not convinced that it's worth the purchase. I've stopped playing Civ IV and am now playing Paradox Games. I pre-ordered Civ IV, I won't be doing the same with V. We'll see.

I'm buying only one copy, retail. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they release Babylon later. If not I'll be kicking myself. Does anyone know if once the game is released, does the DD get removed from steam, or will we always be able to purchase it?

Edit: With the new offer from D2D I am unsure if I will still be getting a retail copy. Arghhh too many options, my brain hurts!

The DLC gouching? Do you know something that I know not? Did they announce that they will release tons of DLC like ETW did?

Also for a guy who says no to net validation, I think it is pretty weak that you would even consider getting the game.

I get two copies, one for me and one for my best friend to say thanks for a lot of things he did for me.

Same as I did with IV, one complete edition with all expansion packs. In a box. I don't mind waiting, as I will probably need to update my computer specs first.

I still dunno. I'll probably get one at some point, but I'm sure not paying full price for it, regardless of the Steam issue. I've never NOT felt regret at paying full price for a game, no matter how much I enjoyed it. As long as the SP experience is good, it won't matter if the game flops with everyone else, because I don't play big games like this online. The one time I did play Civ4 online a couple months ago with the Polycast crowd, I was almot always holding up the whole game, as I knew I would be, and I was rushing along, missing things all the time. A horrible experience to feel like I have no idea what's going on in my game AND be inconveniencing several other people. Woo hoo! Thank God I wasn't in TMIT's game; he could play 20 games in the time it takes me to play one. He lives close, he'd probably come over and it wouldn't be to make me lunch.

I've never been a fan of registration, either. I can probably count the number of registrations I've done in the last 11 years on one hand. I don't need spam. Never have, never will. And with all the crap that's been happening on the social networks releasing too much information, I really don't need to put my real information where millions of crazy people can find it.

And, of course, I'm not a fan of being nickel-and-dimed-to-death. I know, all these little adds are supposed to show how extensible the game is, how customizeable it is. But there comes a point at which it's no longer cool and suddenly onoerous. The feeling that you "have to have" all this stuff just so you can participate in a discussion without looking like an idiot, that's a stupid thing to fall victim to. A handful of add-ons, spread out over a few years is one thing, especially if they can be collected into a single patch/expansion at some point, but at the rate they're going, it's gonna be "gotta catch 'em all".

I definitely won't be a party to that.
