How much does OT know about Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers?

Crap music from a dude who looks like a lady. Get a better obsession, Aimee, preferably something in academia.

Thats unfair Bill. Pettys music isnt/wasnt crap, but its certainly not something to get obsessive about either.

I was also high on psilocybin mushrooms at the time.

This explains a lot I have always wondered about.

What's wrong with me liking Tom Petty?

Absolutely nothing. What's wrong with being obsessed with him? Obsessions are, by and large, not particularly positive or useful things, particularly when it comes to celebrity worship rather than something you could get some benefit out of down the road.

Aimee, I worry of how you'd react if he died.

BTW, I didn't know who this guy(?) was before this site.

Oh, those are definitely men. (lets eyes wander)

BTW, better pics:

These pics made me move my head 30 cm/1 foot away from the screen. Aimee!!

No, that's the drummer.

EDIT: I should say ex-drummer. He left in 1994.

I bet it does. An incident that took place over 20 years ago using a drug, which is openly sold in Amsterdam, is probably preceived as being a great "travesty" to you.

But my views on recreational drugs when consumed by adults are hardly a secret. I guess you just haven't been paying that much attention to those frequent threads.

Too funny! And look at the size of the audience.

I have a DVD of the entire show. :)

Do you normally have your head closer than 30cm to the screen?

First of all, I'm in my bed with a laptop.

Second of all, I never said such a thing.

Third of all, I read what Aimee said about "eyes wandering" so I let my eyes wander. Turns out, those guys have some awfully tight pants... It was a shock reaction.

ADD ON

Actually:

Link to video.

(BTW, this is 1977 when this happened.)

The Hearthbreakers just became that much more badass.

All I know about him is that Aimee seems to like him.
Remember a friend from highschool, she had the "I'm slave for x singer", it faded out eventualy.

Aimee, no one gives a flying crap about Tom Petty. If you wanted to make one thread, then let it die when no one posts in it but you, that's fine, but there's no need to post a million threads. No one cares. I'm sure there's a Tom Petty fanboard somewhere, find it and post there. There's a good reason why at least half of the posts in this thread have been people mocking/trolling you.

Unfortunately he was in that god-awful Kevin Costner movie, the Postman...
He also did the voice of this guy on King of the Hill:

He also did the NFL super bowl half time show really recently (was it the last one?).

He voiced Lucky? Hmm, I never really like the character. Although he had the perfect voice for a slow-whitted, untalented and useless redneck.

This is the first thread in memory created by Aimee explicitly devoted to Tom Petty, although she does sometimes use it as a joke option in some polls. The fact that you're unaware that Aimee is a frequent poster in a Tom Petty forum seems to demonstrate well that you're not totally famaliar with the place (Neither am I, for that matter.), as Aimee frequently discusses the arguments of the people in their OT forum.
Edit: X-Post with Babbler

All you had to do was scroll down just a bit...

You said you took it at Madison Square Garden, so who gives a crap what happens in Amsterdam?

Wouldnt that be a red herring? ;)

Come to think of it, I dont recall reading your position on recreational drug use. Do you advocate breaking the law or following the law?
