How much does OT know about Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers?

Babbler posted while I was writing it. That's how a crosspost works.

Babbler and you aren't talking about the same thing. I'm referring to the big box at the bottom of the page with links to related threads, there being five other Tom Petty threads all by Aimee. I was saying you could have scrolled down before posting that you "weren't aware" of any other Tom Petty threads. You didn't even have to navigate away to figure that out.

Just a tip, you don't get to be condescending when you're the one acting ********.

I apologize. But with all due respect, you were being condescending towards Aimee.

He guest starred in King of the Hill often. He also appeared as himself in The Postman. There Goes My Girl is a cool song. :)

Also he looks like Ann Coulter.

Also TheAlamo, you're obviously new here so I'll be easy on you. We treat those with high posts with a little bit more respect so please tone it down for Aimee. Sure we like to tease her a bit but it's all in good fun! She's one of us. :)

Aimee is our resident Tom Petty lover.

OT doesn't t know anything about Tom Petty. But if anyone ever feels like wanting to know something about him and his Heartbreakers, there's always Aimee

My 14624 posts agree with TheAlamo

Aimee, no one gives a flying crap about Tom Petty. If you wanted to make one thread, then let it die when no one posts in it but you, that's fine, but there's no need to post a million threads. No one cares. I'm sure there's a Tom Petty fanboard somewhere, find it and post there. There's a good reason why at least half of the posts in this thread have been people mocking/trolling you.

Don't be hatin. And you know, I actually like Tom Petty, so maybe you shouldn't try to speak for everybody in the future.

I don't give a flying crap about half the politics or religious threads. :smug:

With all due respect, the breadth of discussion possible on the topic of ''Politics'' or ''Religion'' is a bit more impressive than on the topic of Tom Petty...

You said you took it at Madison Square Garden, so who gives a crap what happens in Amsterdam?
I've got an idea. Why don't you contact the Manhattan police and tell them someone on an internet gaming forum claimed to have used psilocybin mushrooms during the 80s. And you want him arrested for violating the law.

Wouldnt that be a red herring? ;)
No, that would be the use of a fact to help corroborate how harmless the recreational drug actually is. ;)

Come to think of it, I dont recall reading your position on recreational drug use. Do you advocate breaking the law or following the law?
Now that would ironically be a red herring, as well as a likely ad hom in the making. I suggest you try using the search function and find out for yourself. That is, if you actually have any doubt in the matter.

If there was even the remotest chance they would actually do something about it I would do it in a heartbeat.

No, this is just proof that your recognition of logical fallacy only extends to others and not yourself. It precisely is a red herring. What goes on in Amsterdam has nothing at all to do with what happens in New York at Madison Square Garden and you know it.

Now that would ironically be a red herring as well as a likely ad hom.

Actually, since it isnt a statement, but a question, its neither. How on earth would it be a red herring since you were the one that brought up recreational drug use yourself? Or even an Ad hom? I am not labeling you of anything, and in fact, are asking you to clarify your position in asking my question. I truely have no idea what your position is on illegal drugs.

You trying to paint a simple question based upon your own comment as either a red herring or ad hom pretty much tells me you dont really know what either one actually is, but do spend a lot of time throwing those terms around in some effort to look more intelligent or something....that...or your really insecure in how you debate and have to devalue your opponents intelligence via those accusations as opposed to actually addressing their point.

I suggest you try using the search function and find out for yourself. That is, if you actually have any doubt in the matter.

I notice you didnt answer the question which would have been very simple for you to do. I think I can base my answer on your reluctance to address the question.

Give it a shot. I bet they could use a good holiday laugh.

I know when Tom Petty broke his hand (October 1984), he was doing a lot of cocaine, I read articles and I think he said in interviews. I don't know if he was on it at the moment.

EDIT: Just pulled out my very worn copy of Conversations with Tom Petty. It says that after the 1983 Long After Dark tour:
Tom Petty said:
So this is the time that the evils of success started to creep in. Because we had all this time on our hands. And we were living in Los Angeles. And we started doing cocaine and pot. And drinking started to show up. Cocaine was really popular in the Eighties, around that time. And we had never really done cocaine much. Because we just has never been around that kind of scene. So I think that when that comes into the studio, everything gets confused. But I remember there was cocaine around then and a lot of drinking. We were the wildest we ever were then. In our personal lives. We were just wild and crazy.

A lot of Petty fans are donkeys, I've noticed. Especially one clique I know of, but I'm not giving any names in public.
