How much homework is too much?

Some classes shouldn't have homework at all, and some should have a crapload more than what teachers assign. It all depends on the course and the students taking the course; there is no general rule for the amount of homework that is too much or too little.

Definitely. Some courses don't need any homework if the class is long enough, while some need plenty.

My homework has varied from day to day. A lot of the time, it has been 0-1 hours (study halls ftw!) but occasionally I have to go to midnight... Of course, that's usually when the math assignments, which are assigned over a month or more, are due... :mischief: Then again, by going to a private school, I asked for excessive homework...

Why the **** should we (students) do 2 or 3 hours of homework a night. We don't live to study and do homework. School should not rule your life! If teachers are so incompetant that they can't teach properly in the allotted hours give them the homework.

I am a 90%+ student in Year 9 and I do hardly any homework. I don't even study for tests or exams. I am also doing year 11 Maths. If I was doing these grossly outrageous workloads some teachers expect us to do I am sure I would be doing badly. Too much homework is detremental to the student. It make you tired and overworked which makes you not pay attention in class because you just spent 3 hours last night doing this up until 1 o'clock in the morning and you can't be stuffed doing any more.

Home is for home. School is for school.

i get assigned like 8hrs of hw a day but i dont do any of it and still get As cuz i did hella good on an internet iq test

What ever happened to the way life was lived in the 19th century, when kids did go to school

Yes, then they threw stones at their own shadows and died of old age and fear at 40.

yes i think there is a fine line between studying/learning, and busy work, i remeber some of the crap i was forced to do in highschool, i don't see how spending 1.5 hrs making a colage has helped me in any way. If i could i would have public burnings of colages,(paper with a bunch of magazine clipings on it).

hay kids! (11th graders) Lets make a family tree!

Screw you.
