I've cut my calories down to like 1,200 a day. Still not losing much more weight than before I decided I have to cut, out the milk even though I went down from 2% to no fat.

A gallon every 3 days so about 1.5 liters a say for me.

I really underestimated how much the milk killed my hunger pains. :(

I was doing those metric to imperial conversions by memory so they are a bit off. :king

Non but I do use it in cooking.

I probably drink close to a gallon of milk a day. When I lived at home my dad would have to buy six gallons of milk a week, now that I'm gone it takes two weeks to go through a gallon. This was in addition to a gallon (give or take) that I would drink at work (McDonald's). Those damn little milk containers take forever to satisfy my thirst, I probably went through at least twenty a shift. Now at college I drink 4 - 8 cups a milk at each meal, and may possibly be a part of a milk drinking contest this weekend (gallon challenge). I'll be sure to provide updates if it goes through as planned.

When I'm at home, probably about 48 ounces per day. When I'm not, not a whole lot. Since I'm not usually at home, about 0.5 litres - 16 ounces - per day. Actually it's probably a bit higher than that, but in the 16-24 range.

My parents did notice a dramatic decrease in milk consumption after I left - from about 3 gallons a week to about half a gallon a week.

Are you a big guy/girl? Or lift weights a lot? It would be pretty hard for me not to pack on the LBS if I drank like that. ..... than again the most exercise I get is an hour at the gym :p I don't even have a job right now ;)

I probably drink less than half a liter a day. I wish I was drink 1.5-2 liters a day, but I can't afford that.

I have no idea, a big glass.

Don't cut out milk! It's good for you!

6-8 cups a day for me usually. Maybe 1/1.5 cups with breakfast (as well as orange juice), a pint (2 cups) for lunch, and 3-4 for dinner. Usually its 1/2/3=6 cups (1.5 litres). I should drink more but I don't.

I do love our completely random way to measure stuff in America :goodjob:.

**** Adding to the topic!

How much does milk cost where you live?

I've noticed in the U.S. ( west coast any way ) no matter how big the town is milk is usually 1 dollar per liter give or take ( 3.30 for a gallon IIRC )

In Mexico in the small towns it works out to about 1.25 $ per litter but in the big towns it is like .70 per liter.

Sounds right (east coast). I think that it sometimes goes 2 gallons for $6 around the stores in my area (can't remember though but it is $3-$4 always)

If you're after loosing weight talk to a professional. Someone with nutritional knowledge. sometimes it's not about cutting the calories but eating the proper kinds of foods properly throughout the day.

I'm not an expert on this stuff but your body may even be retaining more than normal because it thinks you're starving it.

Yeah I know, I've lost over 100 lbs already I am about 280 now ;)

- I am in a contest with 2 of my friends that ends next week when classes start. The poll of money for the prize is 300 bucks so I really want to win. :goodjob:

I drink 8 bottles a day, but it's in 24OZ whiskey bottles in which I pour my milk in order to recycle the milk jars faster... and I imported most of it from Madagascar... lemur milk is teh best....

Milk is disgusting, so I drink none of it.

None, it makes me gag.

I do like living with people who keep fresh milk in the fridge though for cooking reasons. Really sucks to buy a pint of milk when you need 2% to make pancakes or suchlike, and you know the rest will go down the sink.

I hate milk. I don't drink it on principle that Humans are the only animals to drink another animal's milk and the only ones that drink milk after infancy. The stuff rots fairly quickly and tastes horrible. If I'm going to drink my calories its going to be beer not white liquid.

I'm surprised (via the poll results). When I was growing up the idea of a kid not drinking milk was pretty much unheard of. I know a few vegetarian kids but never (IIRC) a non-milk drinker.

As for me, I haven't drank it since '03 (well, had a few glasses in '04 & didn't feel so hot) after I found out I was allergic. Since then I've come to the conclusion that cow's milk is simply not an ideal human food/drink to be consuming. Factory farmed milk is bad for moral reasons as well.

I do eat some raw goat's chessee on occasion but it's kind of addictive to me (hard for me not to scarf down a whole 8oz or so at once) & it's difficult to digest, IMO.

Dairy in general is a terrible choice for those wanting to lose weight as it is easy to pack in a lot of calories without really feeling very full.
