How To: Make Leaderheads! Ekmek's Guide

I've got a problem.
I'm try to make Álmos leader for Hungary, but it isn't work!
It's broke. I'm do NifSwap, and Blender works and xml too!
Ekmek!
What's the problem?:(

you gotta give me more info than that. you did two lhs already, so what do you mean its "broke"?

How? And what's an alphachannel?

its deals with transparencies. right click on ninode and choose add property pick alpha channel. that should do it. if not click on the alpha channel and set the last value to 1 instead of 0.

Hmmm...Ekmek,can you help me ?
Nifswap of my model is so difficult for me.

bad news. that thing is a mess. but I'm guessing that you imported the nebuchanezer that someone else made. the problem is that LH was made in nifskope so importing it is ugly at best. it wouldhave been beter to start with montezuma himself.

if you post the last blend file youhad made in blender I *might* be able to salvage it.

Hmmm... I couldn't read the error message completely as your screenshot is fuzzy. Otherwise I could have translated it (although you could have done yourself). Anyways, from what I can recognize I'd say it's the generic error message that does not tell anything specific about the error. The message alone doesn't help. Please give us more information about what you tried to do and when exactly it occured.

EDIT: Seen your second post. So it is related to your leaderhead. When did the mesage occur? When looking at the lh in the civilopedia or when starting civ4? So far, I never had that problem, I think. You might post your files, so we can try our luck with it. But I am not sure whether I can do that today.

But you'd need to know when exactly this happens at least. What was the last thing you did about your leaderhead?

Okay, then please upload your leaderheads files so we can take a look at them. BTW: did you open it with Sceneviewer and Nifskope? Do they complain on anything?

OK! Here are the Álmos files:

I have no time to paint it, so this is coloured at Saladin!:mischief:

Could it be that you forgot to nifswap things? As I don't work with Blender I don't know how freshly exported nifs normally look. Sceneviewer also crashes when opening the nif, so the nif is definately the problem. Nifskope opens it, but the tree on the left looks strange. Normally there is at least one node on top called xyz.nif, but your tree starts with Scene Root immideately. I suggest you nifswap with default Saladin, so select the meshs in your edited nif, righ-click at them, copy the branches, switch to default saladin i another nifskope window, there paste the mesh. Finally, replace the defaults Saladins meshes by your edited ones - you can then remove the default meshes. Do that for all your nifs meshes. I think that should do it.

Not that the problem. I think, Blender, i deformating scene root (skeleton), and the deformated bones don't compatible withe the meshes!
Could be, but how did those bones came into the final nif? When nifswapping, you only copy meshes, no bones... At least, that's how I do it normally...

Okay, I took a second look at it. Looks like it is okay that the scene root is on top here as it is for default saladin, too. Still, I think you did the nifswap incorrectly: you put the meshes directly under the scene root. Don't know if that works, but I usually put the meshes where their original counterparts are. Mostly, those are children of subnodes. Anyways, this still does not seem to have caused your problem as sceneviewer still crashes, even after I nifswapped it again. I removed the cape now and sceneviewer opens the nif, but it is highly distorted. Never seen something like that, but I guess your skininstances are screwed up...
