Lock myself in my house and only come out in a Biohazard suit.
I will probably just go on with life. I doubt it will be bad. Remember SARS I remember how the media was saying how it would be a huge pandemic.

See, the trick is to fire off about 5 different pandemics at once. The rest is just mop up work.SeleucusNicator said:The best way to survive is to already have genetic immunity, which I guarentee, in a population of 6 billion+, a significant number of people have.
Sounds easy... but I don't see an impossibility of having high casualty rates, if the worst happened. Didn't the Black death wipe out entire populations on some places? The best way to survive is to already have genetic immunity, which I guarentee, in a population of 6 billion+, a significant number of people have.
That's why you shouldn't 'cry wolf', a pandemi could happen, I don't think this bird-flu will lead to one, but you never know for sure.Remember SARS I remember how the media was saying how it would be a huge pandemic.
We're not talking about no ordinary pandemic. We're talking about the superapocolypticuberdeathgigapandemic. It's really just a hypothetical dealie. But it's amusing to post about.Birdjaguar said:Civilization survived the 1918 pandemic that killed 20MM. It survived WW 2 that killed 50MM. I'm pretty sure we would survive another pandemic even if it killed 100MM.![]()
Pasi Nurminen said:It's okay if they're not accessable, because you can kill someone infected with solanum just by piercing the skull somehow. Firearms are best, but there are other ways. In any event, just wait for a local military base to be overrun, and then head there to loot some firearms, but since you don't have any already, be EXTREMELY careful to either avoid detected by the infected, or ensure the ability to outrun them (which shouldn't be too difficult provided you have a car or truck of some kind).
Then I'd crack open some beers, open up the morphine and die smiling!Loppan Torkel said:Yea, but you're counting on a nice and cosy pandemi, I'm talking worst-case scenario... It could happen, not very likely but it could... that people start dying like flies, 90% dead in some country a bit away, but with a few days incubation, there's a large chance the decease already has reached your country.
... It's a what if scenario... It could happen, what would you do..? One could argue about the risk of dying in a car accident - you've heard of people dying in caraccidents but also the black death in the middle ages. It could happen to oneself and today, hopefully not though.I understand these theories are born, due to 60 people dying of some flu in South-East-Asia.
I assume you're talking zombies now... from Dawn of the Dead perhaps?! I haven't seen many zombiefilms so this Solanum category 4 outbreak is pretty much lost on me. Either way the scenario doesn't seem to far off. A barricated Walmart sounds like a place where one could survive a long time, if one would risk being there with a group of other possibly ill people.Pasi Nurminen said:The solanum virus is far deadlier than any avian flu virus. The thread starter was not talking about any one type of disease or virus, any such infection that managed to kill a huge number of people.
Pasi Nurminen said:Yes, it's good to go to a place as remote as possible in the event of a serious class 4 solanum outbreak. Those infected tend to assemble in areas of familarity to them (schools, churches, malls, etc), so a bunker in the woods, provided you can stock it with enough weapons, ammunition, food, and water would be an ideal choice. Of course, the thing to remember is that you MUST have others with you, because no matter where you are, in the event of a class 4 outbreak, you will die if you are alone.
