HqNes2 - Fair, New World

Well, I'm open to any suggestions on the eco.

On the nation sizes... yes, they are at least one larger than they would be in a later era. However, at this point in time it is more difficult to improve things and the easiest way of showing that was by artificially increasing the size.

Improving is not easy and that is also my biggest concern. Even bigger though is the fact that if I change it slightly so that every nation has, say 2 points more per turn, then it would go all directly into military. I can do it though if people wish so. Just say yes or no in the this thread. I wish to create something enjoyable for both me and the players.

Capitals do not automatically give bonus points, however all capitals have been given status of either economic centre or religious centre so they will give 1 EC extra per turn regardless.

So, shall I change the eco a bit to give you all a bit more to play with?

I personally don't mind either way- I could prob work with either one.

Imperia Celebrates Recent Victories

today in the captial city of Gregengrad the leader of Imperia Ernest Dickson had a Millitary Parade of around 300 troops, a small amount for the nation, but still large enough to impress the citizens

"now I know some of you are upset about the recent destruction of religious sites, I do this for your benefit!" Ernest yelled down to the citizens from the top of the palace

"Religion causes nothing but fighting between us, if we no longer believe in it, how could we possibly commit acts in its name? I instead replace your religions with a new belief system *Imperiaism, not a belief in a greater power, but instead a belief in your selves, your fellow citizens and your Government"

Dicksons proposal has been met with mixed reaction roughly 40% of the nation supports it, 43% opposes it and 17% of them became confused to the point of curling up into a ball and rocking slowly back and forth

however afterwards several sign painters were fired when it was discovered they had mistaken the capital of Gregengrad with "Greengrad"

*I didnt mean to spell Imperialism, Imperia is the country so Imperiaism makes sense in my mind

nah.. keep it. I already though up a nonstandard way to break it useing the 3-city system. good by eco level or two, hello Agricultural Revolution! time for a few new cities..

don't worry, I won't break it to hard.

(well, not break persay.. just twist it to my advatage and balance my nation a bit.)

oh, and Question, How much to found a city? I need to know for my orders. 1 eco? two?

Cities will get founded automatically every now and then. Also, I am aware of the hole that means it makes sense to sacrifice a level and then build eco next turn. I'll keep track of times that happens and the population won't like it... in other words, that will result in civil war.

I'll consider the eco. It's still early morning, but give me a couple of hours.

Right, this is how it stands with the eco as of now.

Bankrupt (-2) – Depression (-1) - Failing (-1) – Recession (0) – Very poor (0) - Poor (0) – Below normal (+1) - Normal (+1) - Above normal (+1) – Good enough (+2) - Improving (+2) – Growing (+3) – Strong (+3) – Booming (+4) – Rich (+4) – Very Rich (+5) – Powerhouse (+5) - SuperPower (+6)

This is how I suggest we can change it:

Bankrupt (-2) – Depression (-1) - Failing (-1) – Recession (0) – Very poor (0) - Poor (+1) – Below normal (+1) - Normal (+2) - Above normal (+2) – Good enough (+3) - Improving (+3) – Growing (+4) – Strong (+4) – Booming (+5) – Rich (+5) – Very Rich (+6) – Powerhouse (+6) - SuperPower (+7)

Most will gain +1 which makes it slightly easier to make domestic changes, though not a lot at once. Combined with the fact that turns will now only be some 1 or 2 years this should reflect well the time it takes to build something up. Would this be better or shall I give it a further +1/+2 and then make all turns 5/10 years?

On sacking economy levels I am thinking about this change to not make it overly powerful, but still useful:
Bankrupt -> Very poor: 2 points
Poor -> Above normal: 4 points
Good Enough -> Strong: 6 points
Booming -> Superpower: 8 points

Also, abuse of this will lower confidence in the nation.

Any thoughts?

that.. actually, could work. hmm.. can't use eco to found cities. hmm. need to re-think orders now. still dislike the entier system.. but good enough.

and actually, the hole was to sacrifice eco and build a Lot of cities, and then invest a lot of eco in makeing several Of them Specile cities, then Build off that. but if we can't use eco to build cities, you got that hole Pluged.. hmm.. Still was want my bublegum econemy to happen. need to re-plan.

Orders in.

Well, you can still indirectly get more cities through re-settlement policies, encouraging people to get large families, offering up free land etc. Be creative :)

I'm going to change everybody's eco on the front page if this current system I posted above is approved.

yeah i'll abstain too

i dont see enough of a difference for my opinion to do anything besides delay an update :p

Then we'll change it :p To be sure of what you have to spend, then compare the text in your economy with the numbers above, because I don't know when I'll get it updated :p If someone accidentally underspends, then they'll get to use the extra point in the following turn :)

Harlequin I would like to talk to you.

Deadline is here and I have only 50% of the orders.

Since I'm going to be busy all weekend this gives me an interesting choice. Only update for those who sent orders, wait and not finish update until Monday or shut this down due to low interest.

If I go with the last there will be a special bonus to those who sent orders with a slightly smaller bonus to the other players.

I dont think its a lack of interest problem, just recently some people have gone back to school and are busyier, in a little while they're probably return

in the meantme an update would probably be best

its called deadline for a reason

I am so sorry. I ment to send orders but completely spaced out.

Well I will send orders now. Captain2 we are at peace correct?

yep, far as i'm concerned Calador and Imperia have no cause for fighting in the first place :p

Well their goes most of my orders Harleqin. Just concentrate on expanding trading interests with nearby lake nations. As said in my orders explore further upriver for more trading partners.

Sorry Harleqin about forgeting orders. I have been so spacey lately also forgeting to send them on time to das.

Edit: I can send more detailed orders if you will still accept them.
