I don't see many praise for Industrious trait but last game with De Gaulle I sometimes built Forge before Granary! So...
I had Marble near me and good enough safe space to expand. So I worked on all early techs with Marble Wonder for later failgold. Marble + Ind trait give 150% boost. And I could build them quickly to near completion before failgold - so I got maximum from failgold.
Been Charismatic means I went for Stonehenge. My attempt to research Metal Casting myself failed, as I am Industrious + Marble I decided to make Oracle. I specifically discovered Pottery to open Metal Casting.
With Metal Casting I traded for Writing / Iron Working and become leader of the game (on Immortal).
I chopped Forge and failfolded Polytheism/Mansonary Wonders (and some other), get Parthenon + Great Library.
Effective failgold allows me to keep more cities until Currency.
Absence of pressure from rivals (I replayed opening several times so know this) allowed me to focus on production and high research rate.
In my earlier attempts I made too many cities, not failgold early Wonders (like Great Wall!), build only 2 workers, waited time with workers, improved important tiles too late.
That's my best game ever so far. Even though I've just googled about Irrigation spreading because I didn't understand why Rice and Corn are worse than seafood. 3 month of playing and still lack knowing some game concepts...
I see one mistake so far - forget to send scouts to rivals territory ))
I added T0 Wordlbuilder save as I played it with BUG/BULL MOD installed into separate directory...
