I keep getting MAFs

Hello guys,
I keep getting this error. It used to be very rare error at the beginning, but more I progress, more often I get it. Right now, it is once every few turns, nearly every turn, making it impossible to progress.

What version are you playing, and game settings? MAFs generally result from large map sizes + many AIs + late game; the most recent version has some work that will make them less frequent, but if you play the largest maps with many AIs and Revs you will end up with MAFs at some point, unfortunately.

Edit: Ninja'd by raxo, yet again lol. Basically what they said; it's a limitation of the game engine we can't do all that much about, but do make progress here and there. Most recent ver - 41 instead of 40 - made a dent, for instance.

Yup. I am using UEM, historic locations + lots of AIs :d
Playing on medium settings, was playing 40, going to download 41 now.

Game can't handle UEM, instead try space scenarios, that are accessible in custom scenarios.
 
What would be the biggest map/scenario that the game can handle? Also what about earth map?

It's less strictly about what size can be handled, as the landsize * AI * how far in the tech tree you want to go.

For instance, high sealevel archipelago should be fine up to fairly large mapsizes - giant even, probably - for most of the game but of course, it's archipelago. Additionally, space content doesn't really work at the moment unless you use one of the custom spacemaps (but even then it's a bit wonky still)... there should be some included in the game under scenarios (duel or small versions I think support the full tech tree usage without MAFs), and you can find more info with a bit of searching somewhere on this forum.
 
Well I would like to play a map that is as big as possible with as much AI as possible on conquest. Space content doesn't seem that appealing to me, the era and the technologies are interesting, just the maps and space colonization isn't. Earth map would be the best
Do you think UEM would work, but with less AIs? I found out that some civs on that map are redundant. I know this will screw the balance, but I dont think it will be so drammatic.

Any suggestions?
 
C2C_World is not a strict Earth map. But it is one of the most stable maps we offer. With your system you should be able to play Giant Map with the default Number of AI it offers.

Are you a must have Rev On type player? If so then do not exceed the recommended AI number. The mod will only allow 40 active Human and AI Empires. the other 10 spots in the DLL are for NPC's like Animals , Barbs, Neanderthals and "future" NPC's to be added when or if Multi-maps ever get made and coded.

Also do you have to have Barb World or Barb Civ Options On. These too will dictate how many AI the Mod can handle.

Finally Start as Minor is not a recommend game set up Option for Large number of active at start AI.

You can still have a great game without these settings On.
