If god was real, he would be a space alien

That would explain why he brought the smack down on the Egyptians.

That was a load of twaddle.

The Egyptians merely suffered negative events that all societies endured in that era.
The things like locusts, the discolouration of the Nile, and sickness are all easily explained.
The Nile was filled with silt that turned red on occasion, and sometimes insects spread plague.

An ancient person would assume natural calamity was the work of the gods, Egyptians included.

The priests who wrote the early bible tales merely suffered from severe jealously. They were in
awe of the Pharaohs, and tried to revise history to give the Hebrews a bigger part in history.
In reality, Ramses II went on to live till he was 90 and sired hundreds of children.

He certainly did not drown in a swamp, or lose an army in that fashion.

How people can follow esoteric bible stories as literal truth is staggering.

...

Nuh uh. God brought the smack down on the Egyptians so he could eat a whole bunch of their cats without anyone realising.

Well, he could have just asked.

I am sure Pharaoh (being a god too) would have happily put on a buffet.

:)

This particular thread is about examining god from a scientific point of view.

How can you do that when he is outside of the bounds of science? He is not a material being as so many people assume, so we need to be discussing God, on his terms. He said that he is a spirit, thus he is immaterial.

The bolded part is exactly the opposite of what I'm saying. If god is real, he is part of science just like everything else. Let's pretend he's some spirit creature. That means that whatever substance his body is made of is unknown to humans at this time.

Why do atheists create so many threads about God?
For the same reason that people who do not believe in polls post threads regarding polls.
OMG... you have 13.000 posts in less than 2 years.
It's ok. Many of them are made from a taxpayer-owned computer. Evidently, there is nothing better to do in the military these days.

And exactly how often do I create threads about atheists?
Based on your last 10 threads or so, you seem to focus on Democrats, Hollywood, polls, global warming, and Muslims. Am I to conclude that you share the beliefs and values associated with these categories since you like to create threads regarding them? That you have a guilty conscience regarding those categories? And what conclusion should I draw that not a single one of those 10 threads or so is about the Christian God or Jesus?

You should conclude that I am not some pushy christian trying to convert you 24/7....you know..the ones you constantly complain about.

I am more than satisfied in correcting your lame interpretations of christian faith. And you atheists do keep me busy.
