If you could ask one specific question, what would it be?

Thanks for your questions everyone! Keep them coming. Just popping in to let you know that I am reading them. :D
That's very cool.
I hope we'll also receive answers to some questions, maybe :)

I have two questions:
1. For BNW there will be improvements to multiplayer, like hybrid mode, etc.
Will it also feature new map scripts for multiplayer and/or will it be possible to use custom maps scripts?

2. In the footage we've seen different icons for trade units, they appear to be era-specific icons, is this the case?

See http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=izO0s1hRwJU at 20:42 for answers about the first part. I'm curious about map scripts and multiplayer custom maps as well though!

I would want to know, purely for the sake of curiosity, which civ was the replacement for the Pueblo. My assumption is that the plan was to make nine new civs including the Pueblo, and that when the Pueblo Council denied the use of Popé an entirely new civ, which they hadn't been planning on, was produced. It doesn't really matter which new civ we almost didn't get, but I'd be interested to know.

My more pertinent question is whether DLC will return after BNW is released. They stopped doing DLC because the fans were unhappy about it, but a large part of the reason a lot of those fans were unhappy was apprehension that DLC would take the place of full-sized expansions. Now that we'll have had two massive expansions that not only came with new civs but were huge game changers in themselves, I think a lot of the anti-DLC sentiment would evaporate if they announced they were going to start doing it again. So my question is whether the developers have taken that into consideration and opened up the possibility of doing more DLC after July.

I hope so, they read the forums so they should see that whatever the last four civs are revealed to be there's going to be a demand for more, a demand unlikely to be fulfilled in a reboot with Civ 6. If turn around is still four weeks for a leader head, they could have DLC available by fall or a scenario and multi-civ pack by Christmas. I think asking them about their openness to DLC is a brilliant idea. :goodjob:

I'd very much support asking these questions too. I think another reason why a number of people were somewhat hostile to the initial DLC run was because Civ V Vanilla was a bit of a mess when it was first released. It was very lacking in gameplay features and there were plenty of bugs and AI problems, all of which could only really be corrected/improved through major patches, or expansions. I think a lot of people were angry that it looked like we were just going to be milked for money with the new civilizations, which, while pretty awesome, didn't do anything to address the problems with the game itself.

Now that we've had two expansions though the game has the range of features we've come to expect for a proper Civ game, so I think people will be far more receptive to the idea of DLC Civ packs. I still think there's room for one more expansion (I'd like to see some kind of reimagined health mechanic, a more interesting system for obtaining science - like the new 'curation minigame' for culture, more interesting barbarians, and there are still a bunch of civs that really deserve inclusion: Sumeria, the Hittites, the Khmer, Indonesia, etc), but I think additional civ packs would be a good way of supplementing that. It'd also be a good way of getting in civs that might be controversial in some places (Tibet, Israel etc.) or which tend to divide the community on whether they deserve inclusion or not (Canada, Australia etc).

1. Is Human-to-Human diplomacy improved/re-worked for Multiplayer?

2. Is Multiplayer Mod support enabled along with the ability to play Scenarios (mostly Hotseat)

3. Menzie, make a question about your City State theory

4. What are the new 8 Wonders and what do they do?

5. Show us MORE SCREENIES to analyze!

6. Tells us what the mystery resource is!

7. Is Rationalism and Piety still exlusively mutual?

8. Can you Confirm or Deny the existance of Morocco as a civilization and Italy or Venetian Empire as a civilization too?

9. Is International Space Station one of the 8 new wonders or is it a special kind of wonders that ISN'T considered one of the "8 new wonders"

10. Why has the music in all of the Civ videos been placeholder music for leader and main menu when there's about two months left till the releae? Is somebody procrastrinating?

11. What gives with the updated jungle and forest tiles graphics? They look.. fluffier.

12. Is Krakatoa gonna be finally fixed so it spawns within 3 tiles of a Landmass, so we can acctualyl WORK IT for once?

Yes! This question please, not one interviewer has asked this of Firaxis yet and its the biggest question about the future of Civilization 5 for me. There is multiplayer code all around the mod structure, so it was obviously planned at one point, are we ever going to get it or is it a lost cause?

My notes in italics.

Q: What is the strength value of one of the unrevealed units?

A: 34. But it might change.

Sounds like a Rifleman replacement.

Q: Is one of the not yet revealed civs from Europe?

A: Do you mean Europe, the Eurasian landmass, or culturally European but located elsewhere? But seriously, the answer is yes. We have a European Civ coming still.

Italy or Venice

Q: What is the star thing on Biology we saw on the other live stream?

A: The star means that the tech allows you to establish an additional international trade route.

Q: What is the name of a Unique Ability found in the next civ you want to reveal?

A: Sorry, we can’t reveal that. However a snippet of the text string describing the Unique Ability can be shared. That is: ‘… for each International Trade Route with …’”

City-states, other civs, or your own cities

Q: In which era do the new Aesthetics and Exploration policy trees become available?

A: Aesthetics is a Classical Era SP. Exploration comes online in the Medieval Era.

That's a very interesting starting date for Exploration. Maybe to allow you a few policies before you get your Caravels up and running.

By the way, Thank you, Kate. You've lived up where other 2K community people have failed. good job!

Will there be an East Asian civilization?

In which era do the new Aesthetics and Exploration policy trees become available?

Ha, I see that the question I asked is the only one that got a straightforward answer :)

Still wondering what they are going to put in the Exploration tree without making half of it useless on Pangea. Possibly longer trade routes, as a nod to Marco Polo and the like.

Will there be an East Asian civilization?

Can be Indonseia (I wish it had), it may seem strange, but I believe a small chance for Vietnam or Malaysia

Malaysia is out. We've seen Kuala Lumpur as a city-state.

France has total new makeover.
My Question: How many of the excisting Civ's have been reworked like France?

Boring gameplay question: has anything been done to balance ranged combat (specifically, have you weakened high-level archery units, or are they still viable into the Modern Era)?

Is there an undiscovered civ who share one of their first three cities' name (capitol included) with an existing civilization?

Guys, stop asking these trick questions, you will not get a real answer to them (see f.e. how Europe gets 'undefined' and thus near worthless as an answer...), or the question will not be picked at all as well...

That said:

Has the United Nations been removed as a wonder (or if it gets a new effect, which one)?

I'll rephrase my question more succinctly to improve its chances of being answered:

Now that fans' fears that DLC was meant to replace full expansions have been alleviated by the release of two expansions, have the developers reconsidered the possibility of making more DLC once Brave New World is released?
