If you singlehandedly led some sort of vast realm what would your title be?

Comrade Burldon S. Blavonovich

I don't know, you seem more the "Dark Lord of All Creation" type.

Well sure, that'd be on the official letterhead and the plaque on the door, but it is a mouthful and constantly hearing that in conversation would probably annoy me after the first week. :satan:

I've been playing Gauntlet a lot lately, and it just occured to me: "Sumner is the supreme ruler of the 8 realms, but everyone just calls him Sumner!".
What I'm trying to say is, there is nothing a title can do but isolate you from the proletariat!

Which is a good thing. How can they properly fear you if they think you are just like them?

QFT. The title itself isn't important. What is important is to instill such fear and terror among your subjects that no one knows who you were before you came to power, and thus can address you only by using your honorific title.

It's bad if you claim to be "one of the common folk", and want the citizens to think that you're doing what's best for them.

It's much better to be feared than loved, especially if you are, as the thread title implies, an autocrat.

To quote Darth Sidious:

Fear leads to Anger
Anger leads to Hate
Hate leads to the Dark Side

You see, if you continue to be a nightmare to your people, they will rise against you, and destroy you!
