Which building would mostly resemble, out of those in existence, what you would ideally be designing?

I thought of this since i modeled (for the third time) the Hagia Sophia tonight, and i think it is my absolute favorite building.

Thread needs pics :)

My own work in progress:

I would pick something by Frank Gehry, so I could halt construction before it starts and save the world from any more of his hideous buildings.

:goodjob:

I would be an art-deco fiend. They would probably look like the Chrysler Building, which I actually consider superior to the Empire State Building.

One of my favorites is actually here in Columbus. The Leveque Tower:

I googled him.

The rest look like crap to me, but i think this one might have been saved with some changes:

edit:and the Leveque Tower looks nice :)

Not sure. I like art deco quite a bit, much like bombshoo so it would be a tie between that and Stalinist Gothic architecture like the Moscow State University.

Anyway, something like this:

A small apartment building (say, five-eight stories) with a classic look and a ground floor reserved for commercial use, open to the street, and part of a neighborhood of similar buildings.

LeVeque is nice, but it's no Empire State or Chrysler.

Im partial to this:

This is also quite nice:

I've spent a lot of time here and this is quite nice:

I can't get enough of these white, shiny, bold pillars..

I can't say there is any style i'm devoted to. Although I do dislike modernist buildings, the scottish parliament sticks in my mind the most :P

I'm sure some of my fondness for it is simply Columbus pride. ;)

If you want to express your local pride, Ohio Stadium is the best stadium in the country.

Anything, really. As long as it's an imposing tower of glass and steel.

Gothic churches are good, although the interior is kinda boring. They always have the same kind of shape. I want to design something imposing with lots of rooms and which is very maze-like.

I like for example one of the buildings of my old university.

The inside could have been used as a level in Quake 3. I like that.

And this church is seriously cool:

Something as phallic and imposing as possible:

Make it more reflecty (for maximum viewing pleasure) and add a rotating restaurant on top...boom.

So basically, this with a more reflective main body?

Spoiler Skylon Tower :

It's a good start.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. I suffered through many a lecture in Gehry-designed lecture halls. They're hot in summer; cold in winter; and it's nearly impossible to hear the speaker.

BTW: If this isn't cheating, my ideal building is my beach house, which I designed.

Out of all the pictures of the Hagia Sophia in the world, you deliberately shifted through the internet to look for a pre-Ottoman version from a Byzantine culture website. Are the minarets and the crescent on the dome that awful to you?
