If you would found your own nation, what would its design be?

As in location, size, legal system, economical ideology, foreign politics, language and welfare, state name, flag?

I'll post my version later, now I'll just be waiting for you to post your ideas.

EDIT: The nation has to be founded in this year. The means are not important, you have the resources available in the world.

I would be the powerful leader of a Democratic colony on the Moon. The habitat gets regular food, water, and other imports from Earth. We are too small to be a stable free market, so it'll be a socialistic economy.
No foreign politics, being on the Moon. However the immigration policy is a little strict--you must have an IQ of at least 100 and have no mental or physical abnormalities.

Legal System:
I will be hereditary King for my lifetime, and closer to my death will create a new system of government. As a pretext, I cite the "need" to ban abortion, contraception, etc. There will be a Civil Service, over which I will have complete command and complete right of information (on government matters, anyway).

In the judiciary I will be the highest court of appeal, and the Civil Service the second highest. On the issue of common law (ie judge-made law), the government will have the right to turn it "on" and "off"- common law precedents and decisions will be valid only if the government allows them to be. Judges will be given pay bonuses equal to and above their regular salary if they can prove beyond reasonable doubt (before a court of Civil Servants) that they have made no common law.

I will control the legislative, and work with civil servants (in the first phase) and professional draftsmen (in the second) to create legislation for most of my time. I will take particular case in the definitions of terms.

Economic Ideology:
By modern standards I will be a pro-free market extremist on taxation, but a heavy (if inconsistent due to my character) regulator on large numbers on some areas of buisness (e.g- advertising). The taxation system will be simple and be constantly adjusted around a set income (which will mean nominal taxes are constantly going down to adjust for inflation and "bracket creep").

Foriegn Politics:
Whole World- Irrelevant. I focus on suppresing nationalist movements and staying together.

China- Focus on securing a Personal Union with North Korea in exchange for large-scale Chinese concessions (nuclear aid, economic aid, military alliance, annexation of any conflicting claims, and so on). Subsequently, attempt to incoporate North Korea into a Chinese state.

Manchuria- We make an alliance with North Korea with the aim of a powerful joint nuclear detterent. In exchange, we say are willing to help them conquer South Korea (futile, but a war worth joining for nuclear aid)- we may or may not keep this commitment.

Alps- We avoid the E.U (risks of it actually unifying) and attempt to give the impression of isolationism to avoid annexation (attempting to become a sort of Switzerland).

Language: Standard British English. I've read that in Australia, at least, people subconsciously think users are more intelligent.

Welfare System:
Practically none- private charity will be lauded and given good publicity insomuch as the government can control it, but no welfare system ("unemployment subsidies") will exist. However, we are willing to expand the army to reduce the unemployment rate.

Flag: Unimportant. I either let anybody design it or delegate to my P.R team.

I would simply make independent Prague, divize it to 5 regions, take best from direct democracy and semi-proportional representation systems. All parties and individuals promoting totalitarian ideologies banned from politics. Prefered right wing domestic policy. No participation in international political organisations. Freedom of speech, free market, free religion and internationally recognized rights of individuals as main state principles in both domestic and foreign affairs.
Welfare should be only for these who deserve it as well as all other aids of state to individuals or organisations, all should be transparent.
Judges should be elected by people, policemen should be strictly controlled but have equal growth of competences.

It isn't a new concept; Kenya, Malawi, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe all have black stripes on their flags that represent the people. Unsurprisingly, the majority of the people in those countries are black.

But who can blame the people creating the flags? A flag is merely a symbol for the land and the people which are living within its borders.
