Igor's LeaderHeads

Tamerlane looks..... there is no word in any language that can describe him. So I must make one up, a word like "sexyfine". But even this potent word can not truly describe how amazing it is.
I wouldn't go that far, but yes we did a great job! Good for us!:goodjob:
Who else/for what other civ can he be used for?
He can be used for either a Timurid civ or an Uzbek civ since he is an Uzbek national hero. You can download my Uzbek civ in the new civs thread and add him to it.
personally, i like the red one better- it looks more "regal".
I think the red makes him look more like a one-thousand-and-one-nights king. I think he should be wearing yellow, brown, black, or light-blue clothes. That's how I imagine him.

Uzbeks were Turks (or Turkic), that's why I said Turks. Though you'd have to massively modify the civ.

What do you mean by "were"? Uzbeks ARE and WILL always be!!!
But seriously: I don't think adding him as a Turk is correct unless you make the siv Turkic instead of Turkish. But why do we need to do all that if I already gave you an Uzbek civ?!

Well technically the civ is the Ottomans.

Well, if you want to use this for base-civs I'd make him available for the Turks and Persians. But I'd go the extra step of making him an aggressive tech-whore and making him unavailable to human players, so when you see him you are like ":):):):), its :):):):)IN' Tamerlane!!!! Damn it!!"

EDIT: What's all this action around Tamerlane anyway? Red, Brown, Green... what's next?!?!?!

Blue, hopefully. Red is nice, but he'd look even better in a nice regal blue.

Why turks and persians? They were the two groups that hated Tamerlane most. How about the Mongols instead?

Wouldn't this be kind of like making Mehmed the leader of the Romans? Tamerlane fought pretty hard against the Mongols.

I'd really rather not add a new civ, because every civ has two uus, and I know nothing about that region. :crazyeye:

Technically the civ is Turkish. I mean the Ottoman is only in the name. Look at the city list: all cities are in modern-day Turkey. The civ is Turkish and I have no idea why Firaxis doesn't want to call them Turks. That's who they are- Turks!

Two UUs? I understand you're playing some mod then. In my Uzbek civ the UU is the Kwarizmian Horse Archer (replaces Knight). I can't think of another UU for the Uzbeks really, but I also don't need one. The UB though was very simple to think of- the tea house or chaikhana, as they are called.

I'm not playing a mod- i'm making one. You can see my struggle to think of some good 2nd uu ideas here: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=316901

Love this leaderhead. I'm using him as Ziebel for the Khazar civilization I'm making right now. Just changed the background to the steppes and used the red one from THECAPO. Quality work guys.

So you know, if you use Rameses II animations with these guys it still looks the same, but Rams' movements are more spiritual looking (like his greeting, etc.)

Way to be, IgorS. With this and Itzcoatl you've really done an incredible job. Thanks for the work.

I know what you're talking about. I tried Ramesses' animations and they work pretty well. But spiritual animations don't work with Tamerlane.

By ethnicity Timur was Mongol of the Barlas tribe. He was born when his tribe was already affected by Persian and Turkic cultures. Timur was born in Uzbekistan and his capital was at Samarqand, so he can be regarded as an Uzbek of some sort. The Uzbeks themselves are a mix of Persians and Mongols who speak a Turkic language.

As far as base civ he'd probably fit more appropriately as a Mongol leader. If you wanted to add a civ I'd say the best would be the Timurid Empire, with the Uzbeks being second, although I'm not sure if I'd add him as an Uzbek leader, his empire was comprised of much more than Uzbeks, although you could say the same for most civs really.

Again, I'm in favour of the Uzbeks because of three reasons:
1) The Uzbeks are an ethnic group while the Timurids were not a real nation, like the HRE.
2) The Uzbeks actually consider Tamerlane their national hero.
3) The Timurids would overlap existing civs while the Uzbeks won't. I think only two Uzbek cities appear in other lists: Samarqand (Marakanda) and Khiva (Khurasan, Khwarizm).

I think Uzbekistan is a better choice!

That Barbarossa looks much more natural. Still, I'd work on the clothes. In my opinion they look a bit comic-like. Could be enough to edit the colours, though.

I agree... sorry to bring up something from so long ago, but I was pretty happy to see a Barbarossa, because one guy started one but didn't follow through (with fire engine red hair)... this one has the right hair pretty much, but the flourescent pinkish/salmon colored shirt is... uh... well, better than I could do so I guess I should shut up...

But perhaps a suit of chainmail from some other LH would be nice? Or something to that effect...

I think we have enough chainmail LHs. I already said that if someone wants to reskin this LH to look better- have a shot at it. I worked a lot on the clothes with my VERY limited skills and this is the best I could make. I'm not 100% pleased with it myself, but that's what I could come up with. Believe me that I really tried and this was the reason this LH was delayed for a few days when I announced I was releasing it.

I have no skills at all at re-skinning.
True, there are a lot of chainmail guys, but that was kind of his role... he was a warrior king, so its fitting. I just think it would look better than the shirt.

That being said, I don't know how to do this stuff. So, don't take it personal, as its 1000% better than I could do.

I know I said I won't do any more LHs, but I decided to make two more to add some diversity to my game. These are actually leaders for two civs I have only one leader for, and I found two easy to make LHs for them.
The first one is Siaosi Tupou I of Tonga who can be used as a leader for Polynesia. A preview and a link are on the front page, of course.
