Well, I've played the D'tesh a bit, as well as starting a new game as the Mekara.

However, I find it strange, that every time I make a unit ( aside from a scout, strangely ) it has, instead of 3/3 strength, it would have 2/3 strength, and the strength would never improve.

    Is this bug or...?

The D'tesh make use of autoacquired promos, one for each unitcombat. The promotion you are referring to is most likely Wretched, gained by melee units.

It reduces strength by 2, adds one death damage (net effect of -1 strength), and prevents the unit from gaining xp. It is entirely intended; D'tesh focus on Arcane, Recon, and Disciple units.

If you check the kicking it with the legion thread the first page has a few posts about adapting your playing style to the Legion. They are actually crazy powerful when played correctly.

If you're new, that doesn't mean the unit has two-thirds strength, or two out of three. It means it has 2 attack strength and 3 defensive strength.

Well the default background is a gray color, so it's pretty easy to see anyway. Unless you have poor eyesight.

Nevermind.... it's easy to read :(

Um... are the D'tesh binders supposed to not automatically gain Xp?

Yes. They are the backbone of the D'tesh army, and by sacrificing one warrior, they can get crazy XP gain. The army of skeletons doesn't hurt either.

They will also need one more level than usual to upgrade to mages.

Basically you want to beeline KoTE and then binder rush your nearest 'friend'. You can't treat your binders like squishy adepts. They're expendable shock troops with skeletons. Also you want to build primarily death nodes at first. Each death node gives a 10% strength bonus(I think, might be wrong about the number). All your binders(except your first few) are going to start with death 1 so your basic plan of attack is send in the skeletons, summon new ones, then send in the binders. Once you get a few with a few promos you'll want to protect them, but other than that binders are expendable shock troops.

Also building the Form of the Titan and any other XP granting buildings is a good idea. But remember that getting to Necromancy is always your first priority. After that you can play around with techs a bit(way of the wicked is nice to have), or go straight for Lord D'tesh(which is your end game now button). But you need to get your binders building death nodes and crushing people. And remember to Pyre all your resources, and for you kelp is a resource.

Pretty much. I'd use D'tesh as your leader for that strategy. Also Necromancy is important. You will want too grab that for death nodes.

    Pretty much, if D'tesh.

If Thanatos, go Recon. If Vanedis, go Disciple (Unique disciple units on the Melee line, will be Polearms once that unitcombat is implemented).

On mana types: Death (Strength), Shadow (First Strikes), and Entropy (Wasteland effect from combat) are all important, and grant effects using a special affinity system.
