In the Shadow of Rome

To: Colombia
From: England

As stated we will withdraw but compensation will not be paid due to your diplomatic insults.

To: Greece
From: Turkey

We garuntee that your shipping will be safe from us, but we'd like to remind you that you are the other nation on Austria's border. If we fall, your nation may soon fall as well.

Is it not an insult to rob another of what is rightfully thiers? Is it not an insult to claim lies in order to secure one's motives?

To: Colombia
From: England

It is an insult for a lesser nation to make arrogant demands of a strong nation. Tread careful.

To: Austria Hungary
From: Mexico

We do not know what we could do in such a war so far away, but we wish that you do not find yourself at the end of the short stick in this war. We wish you the best of luck

To: Columbia
From: Mexico

Would you accept a defensive pact to safeguard our lands in these times of uncertainty.

Is it not an insult to blame someone for siding with your enemy while he really is neutral? Is it not an insult that your founders' country has been denied for you to join the Union? Is it not an insult that you don't give out all your IC to your mother country? ;) (Kidding on the last one)

We thank you for your support in these times of turmoil. After the lies and slander being spread about us by Turkey, having somebody that we can trust is a very good thing, and good for the morale of the people.

To Greece
From Austria Hungary

We have no designs on Greek soil. We urge you not to listen to the libelous Turks. We shall honour our agreement about Istanbul and Ankara. We hope that you shall honour yours by not getting involved.

As it is an insult to be called "lesser". Do you think you could defeat us? Yes you are stronger in every sense of the word. Your economy is rich form the plunders it takes form the world. Your army is strong from the men who so foolishly join it. And yes, you are well allied. You may very well defeat our armies and navies, very well drive to Bogata itself.

But I promise you one thing- you will never hold what you take. The independence we have secured shall never be violated peacefully. You will be harrasses along the way- you may shall be striken form the mountains, striken from the jungles, and striken form the beaches. Our people will never submit to your rule and shall rise up against you for eternity. We will never surrender nor will we ever give up hope- freedom belongs to all men. So before you go talking of war, you better make sure you are willing to back it up.

But only a fool would speak of this as if it was an issue of demands. What is at stake here is the fact you have violated our soveignty and our law- in the process accusing us of being supporters of the rogue regime to the north simply by seizing our land. Reperations must be paid.

To Spain
From Columbia

Yes- that is our entire complaint against the English- we have yet to sign any form of alliance with our northern neighbors. As to the second, we can not understand your messanger.

We will settle for 1 IC in reparations, no more.

Guenther Zivick worked at the Austrian Embassy in Ankara. He learned Turkish as a child, and naturally decided to put it to good use. He went in to work, hoping the accusations and arguments of the past few days had cleared up. What he found out however...

He was looking for the ambassador, who had disappeared. He looked on his desk, and saw a photocopy of the declaration of war. He noticed that he was one of the few embassy staff left. All of a sudden Turkish police officers and soldiers bashed the door in. "Dur! You are under arrest! Put your hands up! Hemen!"

He was marched to a wall. There was a steel door. He walked towards it, at the Turks' urgings. He tried to open it, but it was locked. He did an immediate about-face, and saw a machine gun staring back at him. He saw a flash, but heard nothing. The bullet had hit his head, and would be fatal, but for now left him in shock. He felt a Turk throw his body into a ravine, but couldn't do a thing about it. The last thing he saw was a laughing face.

2 ics (a compromise between your 1 and our 3) is the standard. Remember that you started all of this.

I did warn him if he didn't address the "I hope you shall do the same to our embassy staff" that it would be coming. Even though it was so cryptic that if I didn't know I wouldn't have gotten it. All I got was a "bring it on", not even a dignified response.

We will settle for 2 IC as we originally proposed, but you rejected.

To Spain
From the EASR

As we both support Colombian demands we propose that we too form closer co-operation between our governments.

To Colombia
From the EASR

We are wondering if you would like to enter into a Mutual Protection Pact to ensure Colombian sovereignty is not threatned anymore.

From: France
To: England, Colombia

Let us not inflame this conflict further; I propose that England simply withdraw and Colombia simply apologize about the diplomatic insults.

How quickly we renege on our promises...

We propose an official alliance now, to make sure that those who would rather drive a wedge between our nations and set them at each other never succeed.

From: France
To: USCA

We agree with the Dutch; foreign dictators shall not be allowed to dictate foreign policies to free nations. In fact, they should not be allowed to dictate anything to anyone, to say nothing of claiming to be doing so in the name of democracy which they had defiled and massacred.

The war will go on until you are overthrown.

Some smaller ships did manage to escape into friendly ports in Colombia

Seems I entirely missed this part!

To: Columbia
From: The Netherlands
You claim you want to be neutral in this conflict. If so, then immediately stop harbouring the USCA navy!
You either board them yourself and we will send in crews to collect them from your harbour
OR
you immediately send them away from your harbours.

From: France
To: Colombia

We second the Dutch demands; if you are neutral, act the part.

The Amsterdam Times

Today PM Flüggelscheglüggel van Weeteren adressed the nation in an epic speach.

"Dear citizens and friends, our armed forces are currently on a mission abroad to defend our great Netherlands from aggression. The evil so-called democracy of the USCA were threatening to invade dutch territory in Sout-America. In their "doctrine" they demanded the total withdrawal of all europeans from what they called "american soil". We had to act on behalf of all people living in america. Such evilness cannot be tolerated.

We have allied with our friends France and England to stop this madness! It is time to tell the USCA to STFU! Our military forces will be victorious, The Netherlands will prevail!"

The primeminister left the podium as the crowd started screaming
STFU USCA, STFU USCA, STFU USCA, STFU USCA, STFU USCA, STFU USCA!

The PM also announced the blockade that the alliance has set up. This blockade will stand untill Columbia has given up the USCA navy.
No ship other than those of the alliance will be allowed to enter or leave this zone.
