In the Shadow of Rome

When is the deadline?

ooc:
I just want to point out in terms of history the only reason why the monroe doctrine wasnt recieved like this was because Britain supported it. They already had a powerbase in America and didnt want other europeans competiting in it(conquering the newly independent american nations).

So the lesson for today folks. If you want to make a monroe doctrine, get european support ;)

To The Netherlands
From Columbia

You come close you ignorant fool to war. You dare to give us demands? Take your demands and shove it for we will not do anything while your alliance is illegialy is situated on our soil.

Understand this very clearly for we kid not- should a single Columbian merchant vessal be assualted, your nation will be the one held responsible. You have NO right to dictate what we will and what we won't do- you seem to be under the impression someone actually cares what your pathetic people think or care about. A blockade in our waters shall be considered an act of war and will be treated as such.

No USCA ships are legally harbored in our ports and no aid has been given to them- through that will change if you don't correct your wording. No nation may dictate to us- free are free and soveign and as such our rights shall be respected. Hear me again- shall a SINGLE Dutch ship illegaly enter Columbian waters and attempt to enforce a blockade we will consider it an act of war. Note that you mentioned nothing about your alliance's illegal presence within our borders.

OOC: I'll give you a little hint Ice- the one sure fire way to tick me off is to make demands; and as Moose shall learn I'm not in a good mood in these times. I will fight you to the very end and I will do my d*mnest to make sure you don't win. Attempt that little blockade and I swear I will sign with Sheep and give Swiss the support he needs.

To France
From Columbia

A fair solution has already been drafted, thank you.

To EASR
From Columbia

We, unfortuantly, cannot agree to an alliance at the time. Neutrality, no matter what these foreigners say, is our top priority and must be ensured. We graciously thank you for the support nevertheless.

To the Netherlands
From the EASR

If you do not remove your blockade of the innocent Colombians we shall be forced to take action. Do not let this come to war.

To Colombia
From the EASR

Wether or not you wish to be neutral, we support you. However I do not think this imperialist alliance is giving you the same opportunity. We do not support the USCA. We only support yourself in this. We ask that you reconsider.

Madrid Doctrine

Due to Europe's overagressiveness in the Americas, we have created another doctrine. Here it is....

1. All trade between Spain and the Netherlands, England, and France is suspended for an indefinate amount of time. We will be writing a new proposal to all nations concerning Spanish trade.
2. We are neutral and wish for our neutrality to be respected. All attacks on our ships/trade routes/troops will be interpretted as a declaration of war. Also, any troops on our soil will not be tolerated.
3. We will respect other nations if they accept to respect our neutrality.
4. All deals proposed by any nations in the war are now invalid to us.
5. All existing deals are not subject to section 4, and are still ongoing.
6. We have officially demitilarized the Gilbitar Strait. (This means that we wont send any military forces there, but we may still trade and use the ports if EASR will allow us to)
7. Anyone who wishes to end the war will have trade agreements back to what it was before this doctrine, with the exception of military supplies/resources used to make military supplies. In other words, STFU about war with the USCA.

Signed,
San Antonio, Head of Parliment

You do not have the right to demilitarise the Gribraltar Strait as it is sovereign Soviet territory. You can still use ports in your territory there is no need for you to use Gribraltar which is and will remain a Soviet Naval Base.

I think what you are trying to say is that you remove all claim from the Gribraltar Strait and that you promise to not attack it with your military.

DEADLINE: Thursday night.

To: Austria
From: England

We condemn your unprovoked war against Turkey, rest assured we will not watch idly while you attack one of our oldest allies.

To England
From Austria

We hope that this shall not turn into a major war. This war is mainly to "teach them a lesson". In no way shape or from shall we consider conquering the nation of Turkey. There shall be a nation, with Ankara as it's head. I am quite sure that we can work this out without getting multiple nations involved and starting a world war.

EDIT: "We condemn your unprovoked war against Turkey, rest assured we will not watch idly while you attack one of our oldest allies."
And I quote : Let he who has not sinned cast the first stone.

Ireland, Greece, Russia, etc. could say this. However, you had an unprovoked war AND seized land from a neutral nation and attempted to get out of compensation. I believe that you should think more carefully about your actions before issuing statements about other people's.

To Spain
From Austria

Is that a threat? I do mention that I have reason for this war. We are not a militaristic people, but after souring relations, we held a referendum. The opinion of the people was to invade, and therefore I must. I hope that we can maintain peace between our nations. I also mention that I have no intentions of declaring war on any nation I feel like. We hope our army can be used to prevent us from being attacked, but at the same time we like to use it as little as possible.

EDIT OOC: I actually did hold a referendum, by using a random number generator. The number I got was 0.89, or 89%. I was exchanging pm's about possibly doing this war when I decided to do this, and I will now go to war. I decided that democracy needs a say so shortly after the revolution, or Franz II's head could be on the chopping block.

To Germany and Sweden-Norway
My nation has been friends with Germany for years. We wish to have peace with you. Would you sign a NAP with us? After the war, we would aslso like to consider joining the Northern European Defensive Pact, though not until this finishes, as we do not want to drag you into a small war unless it grows larger.

To: Spain
From: Turkey

We are interested in joining your proposed Union with the MPP pact.

We accept a 2-turn NAP.

From Austria

Let me remind you of this deal. I hope that our relationships may stay peaceful. We are always honourable in our intentions. People may truthfully say that I have no honor, which is quite a true fact. I am a very honourable person, and fully intend on keeping any NAP's I might have.

I strongly reccommend that you do not let Turkey have a MPP with you, as then you will be forced to break an agreement. That would show that Spaniards are dishonourable, to so blatantly create a new deal to break an old deal that is not yet a month old.

To: Austria
From: Sweden-Norway

We will sign a NAP with you, however Sweden-Norway sees your attack on Turkey as a bit of a rash decision. As for joining our defencive alliance later on, we shall see. It'll mostly depend on Germany, since the two of you are neighbors and hence more concerned with your actions then we are.

IC:

No USCA ships are legally harbored in our ports

As they still have been harboured, we would be willing to assist you in the extradition of those illegally-harboured ships (but ofcourse this is merely a tentative proposal).

OOC:

EDIT OOC: I actually did hold a referendum, by using a random number generator.

Err... Technically, shouldn't the mod do the results of the referendum? Unless ofcourse your ruler really did cast dice and fabricate the results to look as if his decision has popular support. ;)

To England
From the EASR

We condemn your unprovoked attack on Colombia, withdraw now and pay 3 ep compensation or face war with Soviet forces. We futhermore declare an embargo on trade with England.

To Netherlands
From the EASR

We condemn your unlawful blockade of Colombia. Any attempt to stop Soviet vessels from reaching Colombia will result in war being declares upon the Netherlands. Futhermore we declare an embargo on all Dutch trade until such time that your blockade is lifted in full.

From: Brazil
To: EASR

We ask the EASR to rethink their position regarding Colombia. It is just a tiny little nation somewhere in Central America. There is no reason to call for a large scale war, which is absoluty not in the mind of any of the involved forces. I think we all can agree to this!

From: France
To: Brazil, Ireland, England, Netherlands

To unify our various separate agreements and cement the friendship of our peoples, I propose the formation of an unified, official alliance; I propose that it be dubbed the Atlantic Alliance (OOC: and that our enemies should dub any puppet states that we might set up "AA minions" ;) ).
