DENMARK-SWEDEN COLLABORATE ON NEW TANK. Copenhagen, Denmark. The Danes and Swedes have announced the development of the Gustav tank, which incorporates fixes to the flaws apparent in the Panzer II as demonstrated in the fighting in Utah and Denmark as well as the numerable flaws in the Lee and T-21. This new tank was launched in conjunction with the Swedish and Danish announcement of their withdrawl from the Axis, stating it was a useless alliance which has caused more trouble within than it would have otherwise.
USCA COMPLETES NEW SHIPS. San Salvador, USCA. Thanks to Irish funding, the United States of Central America has successfully massively enlarged its fleet. Among these are two new Super Battleships, the Cuba and the Panama. Though the Panama was sunk in the Battle of Havanna between American and Dutch fleets, the Cuba continues to serve Central America. These two ships are only matched by the new CSS George Patton, named after the Confederate general who has risen in prominance in his campaigns in Texas.
CSA/US SIGN HULL-KUHN PACT. Louisville, Confederate States of America. Cordell Hull and Fritz Kuhn, the Confederacy and United States' respective head foreign ministers, have signed a landmark agreement hoping to end hostility between the two nations. The Confederacy has officially withdrawn from the Free American Alliance, while the United States recognizes Confederate territorial claims on Texas and Californian Arizona. Cordell Hull has stated, "With this agreement there shall be permanent peace in America in our time."
PHILIPPENES REFORMS ARMY. Manila, Philippenes. The People's Army of the Philippenes, formed during the uprising against Spain, has been officially disbanded by the Manila government. Military sources from Manil state that this is to reform the Philipeno Army into a modern army.
WAR IN THE CARIBBEAN ONCE AGAIN. Amsterdam, Netherlands. The Dutch have announced that in retaliation for the imprisonment for several observers of the Cuban elections, a blockade is in effect of the United States of Central America. Belguim is supporting Dutch claims and has dispatched ships to assist the Dutch. However, the Confederate States of America has denounced the Low Countries' actions and has responded with a declaration of war against both nations. Already a major naval battle has been fought north of Jamacia, bloodying the Dutch fleet.
-CONFEDERATE-TEXAN WAR-
LUBBOCK SURRONDED. Lubbock, Texas. Like Dallas, Lubbock has been cut off and surronded by Patton's Confederate army. General Eisenhower's force in Lubbock is the last major Texan army in the field. Many observers have stated that it is indubitable that Texas must surrender to Confederate annexation by the end of September.
Casualties
Confederate: 3,000 Infantry, 40 Lees
Texas: 11,000 Infantry, 70 Light Tanks
EL PASO FALLS. El Paso, occupied Texas. With the unstoppable Confederate advance heading westward under general Marshall, the city of El Paso has surrendered to Confederate armies. This leaves only Eisenhower's force in Lubbock as a independant Texan army.
-ENGLISH CIVIL WAR-
CARIBBEAN OCCUPIED BY AMERICAN POWERS. The United States of Central America and the Confederate States of America have sent troops in and occupied the Bahamas, Bermuda, and Jamacia, stating the same reasons of ethnic stability as the USER did in its annexation of French Africa. In Jamacia, several existing white leaders have been removed from power and the Negro population of the region has been given the reigns of governing the island.
FREE ENGLAND LIBERATES AISA. An alliance known as The Coalition of Asian States has been formed out of the ruins of the English Empire. Though Free English continue to fight on in Newfoundland and in Wales, the Empire is no more as the nations of India, Burma, Malaya Indochina, and Indonesia have been formed. New armed forces have been created from spare weapons from the now defunct Free English arsenals, and a force has been assembled bringing USER armies south of New Delhi to an uncertain halt.
COMMUNIST ENGLISH HIT HARD WEST. In a major offensive along the entire front, the communist English have broken through Free English lines at Birmingham and are threating to cut the Free English in two at Cardiff. Despite this defeat, heavy casualties have been inflicting on communist diversionary assualts at Liverpool and Dover. Liverpool has completely fallen to the Free English as the fight goes on.
Casualties
Free English: 23,000 Infantry, 7,000 Marines, 220 Light Tanks, 30 T-21s, 15 Warhawks
Communist English: 27,000 Infantry, 12,000 Marines, 210 Light Tanks, 15 Lees
-2ND GREAT AMERICAN WAR-
CANADIANS CUT OFF IN BISMARCK. Bismarck, occupied USA. A massive United States attack has cut the Canadians off at Bismarck, using the Mississippi to anchor one flank. Despite the collapse of overland supply, the Canadians have begun sending supplies down the Mississippi River, running a guantlet of heavy artillery in place by the Americans. The US forces managed to catch the Canadians by surprise and have surronded over 5 Canadian divisions in Bismarck, much like the Confederates did to Texas at Lubbock and Dallas. The US use of submachine guns, like on other fronts, has shown their worth once again.
Casualties
US: 4,000 Infantry, 10 Panzer IIs, 15 Warhawks
Canadian: 7,000 Infantry, 45 Lees, 10 Mules
FREE AMERICANS HIT HEAVY DEFENSE NEAR VANCOUVER. Vancouver, USA. Canadian and Californian forces have run into heavy trench defenses and strong US forces near Vancouver as they continue to press toward the city. Heavy casualties have been inflicted upon the Free Americans, as the United States deploys submachine guns and poison gas against the invaders.
Casualties
US: 14,000 Infantry, 170 Light Tanks, 25 Warhawks
Canadian: 18,000 Infantry, 75 Lees, 10 Mules
Californian: 23,000 Infantry, 60 Lees, 10 Mules
US ENACTS BLOCKADE. Boston, New England. Boston is one of several New Englander cities which has been blockaded and occasionally bombarded by United States naval forces. The New England fleet has not yet sortied against the US ships, and many local newspapers demand immediate action against the attackers.
MORMONS CONTINUE UPRISING. Salt Lake City, California. The Mormons have continued attacking Californian forces in Utah, as the United States has promised a semi-autonomous state with more rights than the Californians ever allowed for the people. In the wake of the chaos in Californian lines, the US forces have slowly approached Salt Lake City with no major casualties.
Casualties
Californian: 3,000 Infantry
NEW ENGLAND LAUNCHES OFFENSIVE. Using the US's preoccupation with the raging fights at Bismarck and Vancouver, New England has launched an offensive of its own, surprising many foriegn observers, who expected a more defensive action by the easternmost nation of the FAA. An attack against the northern most flank of the US lines in New York has succeeded significantly, as New Englander Marines land behind US lines at Buffalo, supported by overwhelming New England air superiority and smaller naval vessels in Lake Erie. An overland assualt has achieved some success, although they have yet to meet up with the Marine landing. Unlike on other fronts, the New Englanders have submachine guns and are able to fight the US on their own terms.
Casualties
New England: 7,000 Infantry, 3,000 Marines, 40 Lees, 45 Mules
US: 14,000 Infantry, 70 Light Tanks, 60 Warhawks
-SOUTH AMERICAN WAR-
BRAZIL ADVANCES. Pacific Agreement forces have advanced deep into Colombia, meeting no major resistance to their advance, and Colombian military forces have been for all practical purpose nonexistant in the theater of operations. Both Japanese and Brazillian commanders express uneasiness at the ease of the assualt and wonder what the Colombians are up to.
PACIFIC AGREEMENT FORCES BLOCKADE. Brazilliand and Japanese ships have cut off both Venezuela and Colombia from trade, though much trade had halted to these two nations before the war even began. Though some minor overland trade continues to exist even along the Venezuelan/Brazil border, overall Venezuela and Colombia will soon feel the pinch of the war. Both governments have issued orders of fuel rationing for all civilians.
-2ND CENTRAL AMERICAN WAR-
BATTLE OF THE BAY OF PIGS. Cuban coast, USCA territorial waters. Confederate and Central American forces intercepted the Low Countries' fleet proceeding on the most obvious course to Central America to prepare for a blockade. They were also alerted by radio transmissions from several Central American merchant ships which had been captured and claimed as prizes of war by the Dutch fleet. The resulting naval conflict was an overwhelming American victory, as newly constructed Central American ships, some which were barely even completed, lacking parts of the superstructure and several minor gun turrets, confronted the Dutch navy. The barely completed
CASS Panama was sunk by the Dutch ships, and for a time it looked like a Low Countries' victory. However the timely arrival of the Confederate fleet, which had been steaming full force from Fort Dallas in Florida, sealed the fate of the Dutch fleet, and the Dutch super battleship
Amsterdam now rests at the bottom of the Carribbean after an hour long battle with three Confederate battlecruisers. This great defeat of European power has lowered dissent in Central America to nearly nil as the people believe that the United States of Central America is now a force to be reckoned with. The use of Jamacia-based Warhawks by the USCA also adds a potential new element to naval warfare, as several smaller Dutch ships were severely damage when in retreat by these planes. This is the first time that planes have been used in naval combat. The Dutch Submarine corps were not present during the battle and the fight was a completely surface engagement. The success of the fight and the knowledge of Dutch intentions has been a item of much discussion, and a Dutch naval captain was caught moments before the battle, and confessed to tipping off relatives of his who live in the USCA about the incoming Dutch fleet. He proceeded to die in the fight, and his ship sunk 3 Confederate destroyers before succumbing to the depths.
Casualties
Belguim: 1 Light Cruiser, 4 Destroyers
Netherlands: 1 Super Battleship, 3 Battlecruisers, 3 Heavy Cruisers, 5 Light Cruisers, 12 Destroyers
USCA: 1 Super battleship, 1 Battleship, 1 Heavy Cruiser, 2 Light Cruisers, 2 Destroyers, 5 Warhawks
CSA: 1 Battlecruiser, 5 Heavy Cruisers, 1 Light Cruiser, 8 Destroyers
Status Change
Free England is now a Minor power with the liberation of Asia.
