Incorrupt: A Kaiser AC

Name: 1st Lt. John MacMillan
Alias: Redhawk
Gender: Man
Appearence: Tall, dark brown hair, blue eyes, goatee, muscular, usually in SAS uniform during missions. 24 years old.
Bio: A Manchester native, John MacMillan grew up loving two things- Manchester United, and archery. Having not as much success at soccer, he decided to devote his free time to the latter. At 18, he successfully landed all of his arrows within the bulls-eye of a target, and the SAS recognized his talent. John signed on with them at the age of 19, and worked as a specialist sniper, using a special compound bow crafted just for him, as well as some top of the line arrows, and successfully created a name for himself as one of the best, and achieved the rank of 1st Lieutenant. Codenamed RedHawk, a joke about his love of Manchester United and his skills similar to Hawkeye, he was soon internationally acclaimed, and every agency or special forces in the world wanted to have him. He started his tour of the world with the SEALs, and was based in Constantine at the time of Alpha's death.

~Somber Funereal for Captain Alpha Turns to Downtown Brawl~
~By Katherine Bates~

I would not say I knew Captain Alpha - I, after all, am simply a reporter. But we all loved and respected such a great man for the hero that he was, after his many battles against the Caligaunt invasion and other enemies. Who doesn't secretly wonder what kind of man must lurk behind the mask - perhaps a soldier, or a billionaire like Thermal Dynamo's Kevin Krueger? For that matter, we must all know curiosity for all the League, but Captain Alpha was the man who truly held them together and formed the concept of a union of superheroes in our eyes. It is possible no other death could have so shocked the world, and yet united it to continue on as a last gift to the man whose legacy we now find ourselves condemned to uphold.

I took several photographs of the event while I was there, which are attached to the article below, as is the transcript of Mayor Anthony's moving speech. However, one thing impressed itself upon me - the new superheroes. There were several present. Redhawk hails from the British Isles, from what I've gathered, and is an expert with his bow and advanced optics. There was also a man in a dark helmet and costume I learned was called the Hallucination - certainly a foreboding name. As the day continued, I also saw and took photographs of several more heroes, from one who can shapeshift into fungal matter to one with the ability to fly and project beams of light from her eyes. And the only reason I know this is because the funereal went south fast.

In the front rows, a girl was attacked by a certain man whose name I do not know. He immediately shouted that the Jackal was responsible. I ought to have fled the scene, but I remained behind in an effort to see what I could do - this being, after all, Captain Alpha's funereal. Even as I stood there, twenty armed assailants burst from the crowd and started attacking the Mayor! It was fortunate for us that one of the other new heroes created a forcefield around her and protected her from the gunfire. As the thugs attacked, Thermal Dynamo and another pair of new heroes, "Emerald Knight" and "Spirit" appeared from nowhere, soon followed by the pseudo-mythical "Deep One" Captain Alpha occasionally spoke of.

The heroes seemed to be winning easily against the thugs, and I attempted to catch as many pictures of them as I could. However, these were not many, as soon more villains appeared with heavier weapons, still screaming their loyalty to the Jackal. The police arrived soon after them, and I barely survived the exchange of powers that ensued in the final few moments. I elected to withdraw as the fight intensified and escaped back to the rest of my crew.

I write this now with a word of warning in mind: these new heroes do not seem as coordinated as Captain Alpha and the League. They're young, inexperienced and simply new at their jobs compared to the Leaguers, and I think we would all do well to remember that. They have many powers, but powers do not always equate with power, such as things go, and as it stands that might be a good thing. I, for one, would be disturbed at the idea of a fresh and wet-behind-the-ears superhero being essentially impervious to all attacks and able to hurl grown men around one-handed, as the Emerald Knight demonstrated.

Comments on this article are unlocked, and promise to be interesting. Where do you stand at this point, knowing the story of what happened at the funereal and who these new heroes are? Are they worthy successors to Captain Alpha, or are they merely brash newcomers to the scene, doing more harm than good? For my two cents, I believe they mean well, but in the end, no one can quite uphold Captain Alpha's legacy. Least of all this uncoordinated group of newcomers. Should they shape up and start working together as the last League did, then perhaps they will become a force for good and order in Constantine City, but as it stands now, I cannot believe that this ragtag bunch of misfits and freaks will ever amount to a substantial defensive force.

Katherine Bates has managed coverage of Captain Alpha's funereal and battles in the Caligaunt Invasion. She hails from Ireland, and currently resides in Constantine City.

100 XP for the write-up.

Times have been difficult for the humans, Leader. I observed the death ritual of the human known as Captain Alpha, only to see it descend into a firefight. The "heroes" of the planet Earth exchanged blows with armed men under the employment of an antagonist known merely as the Jackal, including a rather uncouth individual known by the name of David Woodwarde. Human records show that this man is infamous for ending the lives of a large number of the humans, and he gave the heroes quite a fight.

The heroes defeated the Jackal's men, but the murderer escaped to fight another day. After retreating to their headquarters, the heroes, along with the Watcher, Thermal Dynamo, and the Phantom set out on a plan to bring down the villain known as the Jackal and find the one responsible for killing Captain Alpha. They found a clue on the latter subject incriminating a human by the name of Julius Aurelian, while they learned that the Jackal was planning an attack on an institution known as Prometheus Labs. The heroes planned to both interrogate Aurelian and stop the Jackal at a later date.

In the meantime, I was able to save the life of a young human woman whose father had in turn saved my life years previous. I understand this is a breach of our rules in regards to the humans, but I'm sure you would have acted similarly in the same situation. In any case, the heroes took the girl into their possession, so I'm certain she will be cared for.

I continue to observe, Leader. May your days be long.

Name: Thomas Gale
Alias: Voltaire
Gender: Male

Bio: A native of DC, his father was involved in politics before his death, which brought out Thomas' powers in order to avenge his father. Taking the name of Voltaire to display his education and his tolerance for others, he took a leading role in the fight against the alien invasion and now travels to Constantinople in order to investigate reports of a Caliguant presence on the fringes of its society. He typically uses agile and stealthy tactics followed up by a surprise slaughter to win against his enemies, used with great success against the caligaunt.

100 XP to those who were in the RP. Next real mission on Tuesday at 6 Pm EST

Just an unneeded reminder, mission in 2.5 hours. :)

Can't be there. Apparently there's a big important family dinner tonight that no one said anything about until JUST now.

Darn. Voltaire wanted to flirt. :p.

Well, looks like Jodie will have to suffer the turtler instead ;)

It seems there is no end to the hatred of this world. Even at the funeral of the most loved of men, that hatrd has shown itself in guns and steel, in battle and blood. The intrusion of armed men upon the funeral of Captain Alpha has shown that no matter how much the love of the world is concentrated, still hatred can intrude upon it, intent upon it's scattering and destruction.

It was heartwarming to see that this was not to be taken sitting down. Together with those gathered there, I fought back against the attackers, and in a short time the power of love had triumphed over them. Not only in a militant way, for two of their number laid down their weapons, and accepted that they had not the strength to overcome the power of our hearts. Their path, I hope, shall lead to their betterment and redemption, although as with so many of their kind, also to jail and punishment.

The others who sought to defend the body of Captain Alpha gathered together after the Funeral at the headquaters of his 'Leauge'. It seems I was not the only one new to the scene, and we all received an offer to join their organisation. I beleive none refused, for the Leauge is well known as an organisation that beleives in many principles of love, and have attempted to spread it often, albeit in their own, somewhat limited, way.

Doesn't need no stinking bio! :nya:

Not actually. I have to go to the same thing LH does, apparently. It's that or take care of the dogs, which is sounding less bad every passing second compared to dinner.

Write-up to come.

We got lucky tonight Thermal. Woodwarde managed to get there early and set a trap for us before he and his goons got whatever they came there for. It looked serious, but Hyphae managed to collapse the walkway and make it easier for us. Some sort of acidic fungus did the trick. We'll have to look into that when this is all over.

Woodwarde wasn't the only one there, though. Ostuzhev seems to be working with the Jackal now, although I'm not sure why he would show his face after killing Donna during the Caligaunt invasion. We brought him down thanks to Emerald Knight and Hallucination, but given the state of the city I wouldn't be surprised if he managed to break out. We can't let him get away from us again.

Voltaire also showed me something that Woodwarde was trying to escape with. It's some sort of computer chip, much more advanced then anything I have seen. My equipment can't crack it, and it's important enough that the Jackal sent nearly twenty men to get this thing. I'd bet money that it has something to do with what the Jackal is doing in Constantine.

Gabrielle should be returning from Europe shortly, and she's supposedly bringing some extra help with her. Delgado won't be pleased, but frankly we need all the help we can get. The Jackal isn't the only villain acting up here, and as good as we are with the newcomers, we can't handle this alone.

I'll try to get that chip to you soon. There's a rumor going around about some mutant sea creature roaming around that I need to investigate. See you then.

More characters added! MOOAAAR! :mwaha:

Name: Bipedal Robotic Unit for Communist Extermination
Alias: B.R.U.C.E.
Gender: Neither. It’s a robot.
Appearence: B.R.U.C.E. is similar in appearance to the Fallout sentry bot, with the main difference being that it stands on two robotic legs as opposed to three wheels. The right arm houses a large laser weapon, while the left arm houses a variety of gadgets Swiss Army knife style. B.R.U.C.E. also has shoulder mounted rocket pods, though these are currently inoperative, along with a variety of other functions.

Bio: B.R.U.C.E. is the brain child of famous inventor Dr. Samuel Fairview. Dr. Fairview was an extraordinary genius in the fields of robotics, having been issued over 350 patents by the age of 26. Some claim his work could have revolutionized the field of robotics, but in 1965, Fairview only son died in the jungles of Vietnam. Having lost his wife not 4 years earlier, Fairview soon withdrew from the public spotlight, becoming a recluse. He became increasingly paranoid, determined to do everything he could to stomp out what he saw as “the great communist threat”.

Starting in 1967, Fairview began working on what he called PARAGON, a complex network of computers, machines, and security systems within his private laboratory in the hills north of Constantine City. The defense network included an advanced radar system, anti-ballistic missile countermeasures, highly sophisticated weapons platforms to keep intruders out, and a host of robotic war machines. B.R.U.C.E. was one such machine. While the majority of its brethren were designed to be controlled by a central computer system, B.R.U.C.E. was meant to be an autonomous platform, capable of independent action, and possibly, independent thought.

Sadly, the strain of this project and the grief of his son’s loss became too much for Dr. Fairview, and he died on October 16th, 1974. While his body was able to be recovered, PARAGONs defenses proved too difficult to break though, and after several near fatalities, the government ultimately abandoned trying to enter the laboratory. As the decades wore on, Fairview’s great project fell into disrepair, forgotten by the outside world.

When the Caligaunt invasion fleet had arrived above the skies of Earth, the old radar system lay silent. When the cities burned, the metal armies lay quiet. When enemies swarmed the Earth, PARAGON slept. Yet for reasons unknown, shortly after the death of Captain Alpha, one system suddenly became operational. B.R.U.C.E. emerged from its decades long slumber, and began to assess the situation at hand. It quickly realized the PARAGON was in no condition to do anything other than collect dust, as many of its system were damaged or no longer connected to the central control network. Even the majority of B.R.U.C.E.’s functions had become inoperative. Seeking the best course of action, B.R.U.C.E. made its way to the outside world, to discover what had transpired over the decades, and to hopefully find some way of reparing PARAGON to full operational capacity.

    • Welding/cutting torch - An oxy-fuel torch that can cut throw and/or weld together just about any metal. Can also be used as an impromptu weapon.
    • Hacking tool - A device that can hack into the majority of computer systems. While it is currently outdated, it was designed in such a way that it is relatively easy to upgrade to work with modern day machines.
  • Phlebotinum Projectile: B.R.U.C.E. comes equipped with a laser cannon on his arm. Good for cooking commies.
  • Unstoppable - Each CON point is worth 4HP, not 2: Because robots are generally hard as heck to kill.
