oh this is sweat you guys, im removing the entire experimental dll bug code - bull.

ill use only the raw bug python files,

we dont need all of that extra stuff,
the core im planing wont make us update the sdk or other files that much.
 
Version 1.6.4 is released. Please see all the usual places, such as the first and last post in the welcome thread. I have attached the current issue sheet. I decided not to put in the updated power values; last time I put in something at the last minute, I broke something else. There are always more releases. Next up:

* Civilization-specific projects which give one free unit; fill in Kwisatz Haderach unit progression.

* Unit-specific spy missions, probably controlled by promotions

* Spy missions which affect diplomacy
 
I hope this weekend i'll start new thread about Civ specific HUD designs and HUD reworking

I heard that players ask for increased size of turn button, and thats what i planned for my HUD project. I left it aside for some time, and now i want to get back to it and to call koma and build 1st one working, as well algorythm which change HUDs according to civ played.
 
That is great! Do you think you will also be able to look at reskinning some of the worst units, as I have listed in my recent post in the art thread? Or is that really a 3D art task and not a 2D art task?

Its 2d task and i will help with this as much as possible, and UUs must be reskinned at least, I just don’t want to make it hurt my HUD advance :)
But at least UU, Some bad skinned air units will get my attention pre-next patch

I know I've been saying I'll make a unit task list for a while. It is now my highest priority task so I'll do that before I get drawn into any other modding. I would have done it last weekend, but I got sucked in by the select/order sounds. Not sure, it is worth Slvynn's time to reskin units that I have slated for complete replacement, like the suspensors, etc.

Minor marketing point:

Attaching an image to our uploaded patch files will probably increase the likelihood of download. They will stand out more in this screen.
 
version 1-6-4-2 released :

- added revdcm
- fixed merging problems from previous release.
- all the code from 1.6.4 merged in.

tested both arrakis map and archipelago map for stability.
ran the erntire tech tree in several hundred turns - had no ctd what so ever.

one samll thingy - i placed bug loading screen instead of ours, if you gona pak ithe art - just overwrite the loading screens files.
 
version 1-6-4-2 released

I have started about a dozen games with different sizes and map settings, and all of them have been succesful. Most of them I have autoplayed to 255 turns with no crashes. The commerce values look similar.

It is working! Great job!! I will use this for 1.6.5.

next i will merge in bbai 0.82.

That will be great too. I cannot "prove" that every bit of our previous code has been merged in. For most of our changes, there would be obvious xml loading errors if it was missed. The AI code is the part I am nervous about, so I spot-checked some of it. Everything seems to be there.

This is certainly distracting. If I can find the right files, I will replace it.

i both autoplayed it a lot, and manually played it (wrote some feedback on the 1.6 thread that you saw).

as for your, cephalo and koma13 codes, you have nothing to worry about, i havnt missed even 1 letter of the code, ive been working everyday about five hours on it in order to make a proper merge, my brother that studies programming helped me in this as well.
my previous releases were wrong, i admit, i couldnt perform a proper mrege without some pro's assistance.


as for the screen - dont worry - just do this - unpack the dunewars16.fpk from version 1.6.1, then add the art folder from patch 1.6.4, overwrite the new art folder from 16.fpk,

then take the art folder from my 1.6.4.2, paste it into the merged art of 16 and 1.6.4,
do not overwrite the existing files, and you'll get it.

if it will be easier for you david, then i will compile an fpk for you when youll finish up 1.6.5 just before you release it.
 
I'm not going to make any patch release this weekend. I have finished the sdk changes for KH projects and started the sdk changes for diplomacy espionage missions.

I'd like to encourage other people to do a "stability test" using 1.6.4.2, looking for crashes primarily. It should be possible to spot slightly better selection of improvements built by the AI, but maybe not. Assuming everybody likes it, the next version would have to be 1.7 since 1.6.4.2 is a full release.

If anybody else wants to make 1.6.x patches with other cool stuff like buttons, art, etc, please feel free. If keldath is able to get bbai 0.82 into something like 1.6.4.3, we can use that too.

In 1.7, I would also like to have a new installer which phungus420 offered to work on. The installer will help avoid the problem of wrong behavior when run as a normal user on vista and windows 7. But, he did not promise anything, so if it comes, it comes.
 
Next weekend is a big four day holiday weekend in the US. What could be better than having a new patch of Dune Wars available to play?

I have made about 10-15 bug fixes in addition to the Kwisatz Haderach feature. I have made some progress but not much on the new espionage missions from the spy thread, but I will try to finish that up. I will put out a new patch Monday or Tuesday night.

@ Slvynn, is there any chance of getting the set of action buttons in the next couple of days? Also, I have added some promotions and I have made buttons for them, but my buttons are not very good. Could you make Inspired 1,2,3,4 (you can see my buttons in 1.6.4), Diplomat 1,2,3 and Sabotage 1,2,3? I have attached my graphics and also a composite gif. In the gif, you see Sabotage 1, Diplomat 1, Inspired 1, and Inspired 4.

monday is bit tight, today is my last weekend day (tomorrow job) and i have sucession to play and no mood, thursday is ok though , so it will be action buttons + promotions + 2 UU which are ready already

That sounds great! To double check (sorry) do you mean you would post something Tuesday, Nov 24, or Thursday, Nov 26? I would really like to make the release on Tuesday, not Thursday.

i am still in recover of my motivation loss but your attention to some important points and deliverator's art raise it back :P
