IndieStone D.U.C.K.S mod

Could the natural wonder / sacred place have a unique tile improvement, built by a Great Prophet, that provides Piety to a city? (The improvement could be built anywhere, but gives a boost when built on a sacred place)

Like a Civ version of St.Peter's? I like it.

The Megalopolis Mod or The Suburban Mod

Just had to find a reason to :bump: the excellent mod idea(s) before it reached the second page.:mischief:

I thought both "Megalopolis" and "Suburban" summed up what that mod idea was about in a catchier, one-word title.

I just want to drop some good will on this thread. :goodjob:

I'm hoping for the code to be available soon so you guys can get a release. :)

For the buildings-as-improvements idea, I think city walls might be feasible to do as something like fortresses--or possibly even just rework it so that fortresses themselves would be used, and would graphically link to adjacent fortresses (if possible. Possibly stealing the Great Wall appearance? Not sure if that would be possible / feasible). Then building a wall would be as simply as constructing fortresses in the layout you want, and you could make smaller (compared to a city; yet probably nicer-looking than just a cluster of fortresses) military encampments to house some units.

So how does it work? With missionaries? Across trade routes?
I like the idea of trade routes increasing the chance of religious spread...

Also, any plans on having a doctrine (or doctrines) introducing tithing? Civilizations with adherents of foreign religions, if the religion has tithing, would pay a sum of Gold, which is added directly to the coffers of the religion owner?

Just something that seems to have been quite common to a number of a religions, and would make for yet another interesting way to help wage unconventional war on your enemies.

The more I mod, the more I realize that they clearly ran out of time to implement a Civ V religion system before launch. It is just packed with code for it.

Any updates on this? Been a while since lemmy101 or CaptainBinky have posted here.:(

@Garrett20
Not anymore.

Not anymore.

Been awhile since they have posted anywhere.

They are either busily mashing out content so they can surprise the world, or they burned out and are waiting for the DLL release. :)

I thought it was just leftovers from Civ4. The same reason why there's corporation stuff.

In any case, they're probably waiting for the DLL. At best, we'll get it next month. Realistically....this September.

Not just leftovers. There are some new tags in there about building names and such

That could just as easily be remnants of an early upgrade to the BtS religion system, prior to the decision to cut religion in it's entirety.

Doesn't mean it was scrapped due to time concerns. Always multiple interpretations; In this case I'd take the official line, that it was cut well before release, at face value. ;)

Maybe he found religion.
...or a social life, or a girlfriend, or god forbid (ha ha) another program?

Wishing you the best Lemmy. Hoping for your second coming. :)
