IndieStone D.U.C.K.S mod

Hello yup. :) we're still at work. Just juggling it with our real life stuff and the slight upset caused by the patch and removal of ScriptData and whatnot.

Likely to have been reinstated in the recent hotfix !

will it be in the ingame modbrowser? never been good with mods from this site and now i dont have anyway of unzipping them, i know, winzip free demo, already ran out of time. anyway, this looks great and hope it works out as well as it sounds.

Download Winrar, it also only has a demo period but after the demo is expired all you have to do is put up with closing a window when you open it.

winrar, thats what i meant, not winzip. oops... anyway what do you mean closing a window when you open it. will it still allow me to open up files?

He meant the DLL. It was referred to as the SDK with Civ4, but with Civ5 the SDK properly refers to all mod-development tools.

The DLL for Civ5 has not yet been released, and is required to do the more advanced things; They will be able to implement much of this, but not all.

Heh. Quite right. I guess I'm an oldtimer?:old:

The funny thing is, I had originally written, "when they release the code" but I thought it could be misinterpreted. I changed it to "when they release the sdk". Aparently .dll is correct.

Now, is the .dll the same as the code?

If this works as set out in the outline it will be outstanding. I honestly can not wait. I LOVE the idea of forming break-off religions.. imagine it, a Hindu version of the reformation, or a Buddhist schism that goes nuclear!
The gameplay potential is HUGE!

...a Buddhist schism that goes nuclear!

A lesson on religion even a Buddhist could love. :)

The college I went to had over a dozen Christian clubs. Some people looked at that and said, "Christianity is really important to the student body." I looked at it and asked, "what prevents them from forming a single club?"

I don't suspect religions can merge in this mod, can they? Has that ever even happened in history? Peacefully I mean. ;)

Will a religion ever phase out on its own in the mod?

Actually, way back when the ancient Greeks started to do their whole "independent-city-states-that-war-and-trade-with-each-other", each area had its own religious beliefs, and as the cultures of the various areas intermingle, some myths began to overlap and melt together to form the ancient Greek religion we now know. so there's your answer to the first question, Whys.

I kind of thought that was the reason for the differentiation between polytheism and monotheism in this mod. Monothesists are far more guilty than polytheists of telling other religions that their beliefs are incorrect.
