INES III: Storm Tapestry

It really is an odd situation to be in where people from both sides are telling me I’m being horribly unfair to their alliance. :p

I thinks is super common in NESing. Just do your thing. Ultimately a NES is not a democracy.

Nothing would be done then. NESing. A superior form of government ;)

BTW Immaculate, if you're taking an interest in this NES again maybe you should rejoin? If you really want you can take the Carrabean back and I'll be a revolt in France or something.

I just said I realize that's a douchy attitude and am/will be sorry, but this has been going on behind the scenes for a long time. When they complained I just blew up because they knew nothing of the pains I've been having with trying to destroy them.

And yes bros, I am/was mad. I apologize. I should have taken my medication before reading the update.

I am genuinely curious to hear about this stuff- I don't know much in the way of science, but if there are arguments that you should have done better I do want to know.

No- i am happier lurking. the pacing is way too much for me. definitely enjoying Armageddon though.

Who're you rooting for? ;)

Three updates left, BTW. .Last one is in nine days. Unless of course the world blows up first.

I know this might be odd, but could we make the last update in seven days? I report next sunday, and I will not have a computer until September, and that'd be a pretty bad cliffhanger :(

I am lead to believe it is merely ice-9. Tis all, nothing more.

Uneducated hicks. Do you even know how Imago has curtailed my techs with raping science in the ass and mouth just so you guys could have a chance? You should be singing praises to man and swearing your firstborns to him. And realistically, it wasn't a missile with a heat source but a bomb dropped from 20 clicks up, stabilized and guided down. Not even the one in Texas should have been shot down (because you know lol Mach 3+ and 20 clicks of altitude) but again he has to make the game interesting and seem winnable for you and I kinda see why now. You are horribly incompetent.

Bolded for relevence. You're a nice person at heart, I can tell.

Very nice update Imago. Hopefully(?) the climax of the third world war? If it weren't an NES.. ;)

Are you retiring to Alaska or something? And yes, yes I am. I become much more friendly once I have a couple of drinks. :p

Imago, stats are updated, yes? I need to start typing up my angry, hateful PM. :P

What about some stories? I liked reading yours, and I could use some help developing the Confederation a bit more.

I don't think the timing would work. 2060 is planned for Monday, 2061 set for Friday, and a seven-days-from-now 2062 would have to be on...Saturday, which I'm busy for anyway. And then you'd still miss the awards. Chopping an update is of course possible, though I'm not sure even you'd think that's a better option. But September is an epic cliffhanger, if you want to think of it a different way.

Stats are indeed up. I cannot wait to be reminded that the pro-USACS aliens were supposed to arrive three turns ago.

They were late.

There was a loud knock at the door, the armed guards suddenly became alert and for a good reason, an enemy bomber was spotted crossing the Mississippi River heading straight for Austin. Despite advice from his advisers Porter simply would not leave his capital. That was an hour ago, and still no bombs have fallen, Porter glanced outside and saw those Anti Air Batteries scattered on the lawn, it was a common sight in Austin and most of Texas. Porter hoped one of those machines managed to shoot it down, but he did not hold high hopes if it came from the UKA. Porter breathed as the door opened.

"Mr. President!" Shouted the Aide, "A report has arrived from General Tomaz, his troops have captured an enemy bomber brought down by one of our Anti Air Batteries along the Mississippi River. The General reports it was a marvelous sight, he never expected the batteries to work as promised but every one them performed and sent up very heavy flak and surprisingly even sent missiles, even though they all missed, the flak alone managed to damage it enough to bring it down to the point where batteries near Dallas finished the job."
Porter smiled, thought to himself, 'And they all laughed when I demanded millions of these batteries placed along the Mississippi River in preparation of UKA Air Forces. How I would love to see their faces when they realized it worked.' Porter chuckled at the thought before speaking...
"Are the pilots in custody?"
"General Tomaz does not know yet sir, his troops just recently discovered the site and has begun securing it. It went down just 50 miles east of Austin, much too close for comfort if you ask me."
"Yes, perhaps, but I will not abandon my people. If Austin is attacked I will stand with my men and fire the gun as well as the next man, and by God, we will hold them too."
"As you say Mr. President. General Tomaz requires instructions."
"Yes, capture those pilots if they are alive and bring them to Austin, then load up the plane onto trucks and have them taken to our Air Base. You know which one." The Aide wrote furiously, "Oh, and have General Tomaz award the divisions who were responsible for defending that air space. They did a fantastic job and should be rewarded appropriately."
"Yes, sir, I shall inform the General of your plans. Will there be anything else?"

Porter walked to the window, where he saw the Anti Air emplacement power down, thought 'The threat is gone, but we are still at war..... but all over the world, mighty armies throw themselves at each other and for what? The greed and ambition of one woman's desire to rule the world? No, Texas cannot allow that... we must fight to the end, and if I have to I will grab my rifle and join those boys now fighting along the River.' Porter turned to his Aide, "Yes, fetch my car, I desire to meet those boys fighting along the river, give them something to write home about and increase morale."
The Aide nodded and left. Porter simply turned back to the window, Austin has changed since the last war in Canada. The war is now coming to Texas and millions of men and women know that the next invasion may just bring enemy troops into Austin, he just hopes that every man and woman occupying this great nation will do their duty and fight for the lives. Make the enemy pay for every inch of territory gained. After all that is what Porter will do.

I will say that Imago is being a fair moderator (although you sent me a PM that would mean that I should have one more ASP; I will be sure to remind you of this error ;) ), and that Kozmos will probably apologize later. Just remind him when later is.

Rome is far more than a UKA puppet. Cooperation with allies is not behaving like a puppet. Rome takes her own course of action in conjunction with her allies. We have no interest in joining the UKA since we are capable of maintaining our independence. But frequently UKA foreign policy is similar to Roman policy, and Rome will behave in such a manner that both Rome and the UKA prosper.

OOC: Sorry I'm not keeping up the same quality, but my previous plans were ruined by events.
EDIT: Requesting feedback. Since this NES is going to end soon anyway, I might as well take advantage to improve my style.

Ruins of Havana
It had happened just as the finals of the grand Havana Battle Tournament were to begin. Not only were millions dead, but almost all the Confederation saw the atrocities as they happened.

John Dilinger was just too numb to care nowadays. He'd lost everything already- his family had left him, he'd lost his job, his house, the clothes off his back- nothing that happened could phase him now.

But still, he couldn't help going through the reports again and again. How his ex-wife Elizabeth had packed their children into the car and told them to drive off. How some desperate young man, aware he had no escape, had desperately pounded at the Havana Champion hoping to at least claim a technical victory. How, apparently, some bastard ex-Minister named Legarde had driven off, ignoring the young man running desperately for aid.

It was the aftermath of a press conference at the scene, in which he'd done his best to read off the speech Sam had written him. About how they would use whatever means necessary to get revenge for the atrocity done to them, and about how UAK had to be stopped. He certainly wasn't feeling it...

"You were right, you know."

He turned around. Apparently Sam had been standing behind him for some reason.

"I know you don't feel it, but you spoke the truth. You said what the nation needed to hear."

Nobody was watching them, so John could afford to speak his mind. "No I didn't. I said what they wanted to hear. I promised them glorious victory when what we're heading towards is inevitable defeat!"
"That's not true- we've lost some battles, not the war. The Department of Defence was working on a plan to strike back- electronic, so it's still there. It's got all we need."
"THAT WAS BEFORE WE KNEW ABOUT THE BOMBS, YOU FOOL! HOW ARE WE SUPPOSED TO-"

Sam waited patiently, as John began to get more and more incoherent. Within the course of a few minutes, the man collapsed to his feet in despair. And to think- by default, this was to be their new Prime Minister.

It took a while, but eventually John finished crying. Sam, realising his moment to speak had come, knelt down to his level.

"I lost family too, you know."

John looked at him in a mix of shock and suprise. Sam struggled to fight back his incredulity.

"My sister, Elizabeth. My adopted son, Thomas. And my dog, for what that's worth."

John was slightly more composed now- at least, enough that he could stop himself from hugging Sam.

"We don't choose our callings in life- they choose us. Fate has called you to be Prime Minister- not me, not anyone else. Make the right calls, and we'll win this war- make the wrong ones, and we're dead. But I promise you sir- I will give my life to make sure that, whatever happens, we'll give them a bloody nose."

Well played. Although I didn't realize Jihadist Doom to be THAT effective or I would have given further orders. :D. Good game. Prepare for Partizan Parties!

If I am not mistaken, I believe now is the time when you offer up your surrender.

EDIT: By the way Imago, in addition to the questions I sent to you, I'm wondering how, between pushing into Europe, attacking The Ummah in Central Asia, and getting beaten down in the Far East, the Russians had the resources and ability to ship soldiers to Egypt to participate in the attack there?
