I'm a bit more mature than I used to be- I am an adult now, after all (and I've had time to reflect on stupid mistakes of the past). I intend to be in this one for the long haul.

OOC: I'm deilberately being vague here as I admittedly haven't got a 'concept' of how I want to run France to my satisfaction here. The main purpose of the story is to justify any changes in how France is run between the old reigme and the new. It's a bit brief, so I'll add a follow-up later.

The inauguration of Jacques Sangle happened in December. Beginning his second term, Jacques had hoped for another five years of peace and prosperity. For a while, all seemed well, but then the Canadians reneged on their treaties. The people of Quebec were outraged at this new threat, but then realized they should have seen this coming. Canada would never just let some of its territory go. Jacques primed the Parliament on what needed to be done, and then hoped that they could actually follow through with what was needed. Immediately afterwards, Prime Minister Jacques Sangle took to the television.
"My fellow Quebecois... Today is a terrible day for all of North America, but most of all Quebec. The Canadians have declared war upon us for no discernible reason. I believe they may wish to re-annex us. However, we will not stand idly by and let that happen. No! We will fight! We are not alone! The majority of North America supports us in our crushing of Canada! But, even so, Quebec needs your help, you strong, young men. There are many ways you can assist the war effort.
