OK, I decided to install thee game on my gaming rig today and when I went to thee mod section InfoAddict was listed and worked great!

I then went back to my HTPC rig and tarted it up and still no InfoAddict.

what could possibly block it from this computer? Is there maybe a corrupt data file that needs resetting?

Thanks for your help. The link was great.

I just upgraded to G&K and used InfoAddict Vanilla previously. I did uncheck Vanilla and download the updated one but had the diplomacy screen problems. My advice to anyone with the diplomacy screen problem is to delete any InfoAddict Vanilla and InfoAddict copies you have then redownload correct version for your game. Even if InfoAddict Vanilla is unchecked it appears to interfere.

I also deleted my cache *.db files but not sure that was required and that fixed the problems with this mod.

Can anyone please upload Vanilla version anywhere?
robk, thank you very much for such a great mod. I have an idea for future releases. What about including to mod a simpler version of a notifications history, which would serve as a simple chronology? I think there should be only the most important events - wars, foundation of the cities, capturing/losing cities, arrival of the Great people.

    Hi guys.

I've tried using .19 via the Steam Workshop. I started a new game with the mod active. I simply I couldn't find out how to open it. Turns out that it simply did not activate, and it just wasn't there in mode game.

So I started a new game, and bingo. Infoaddict was there. It was early going and forgot about it soon enough. At about turn 50 I remembered it, and went to check it out.... gone.

    WTF.

What am I doing wrong? Does it deactivate when you load a game or something? Can it be applied to game in progress?

Just to make sure you're aware: When you load a saved game, you have to do it through the mods menu.

In short, no. From the first post:

Hi, robk, could you please put up Info Addict Vanilla as a direct download from CivFanatics like you did for Info Addict G&K? Steam Workshop isn't working for me. Thanks.

Is anyone here interested in a light version of InfoAddict? Light meaning only the relations wheel... I got it working, needs some polishing but I want to know if there is interest for such a thing. Full credits to robk.

This is not a criticism to robk's work at all, but some (like me) may feel that the full IA has too much information that is not given by the "normal" game, and therefore, may feel like "cheating"... not a criticism, just a preference.

Anyways, if there is interest, I may post it after polishing.

That is EXACTLY the idea. I got it working like the original IA (mainly accessed from the diplo window), but only showing the relations wheel. I still need to cut some more because even the relations wheel shows more info than what you can access in the normal game (for example, Def Pacts between other civs, and Open Borders (?), or the trade deals between the other civs...). My idea is to recreate the "fog of war" of the unaltered game, but with access to relations from within the diplo game (which is what IA already does, but with all the added information that to me, at least, feels a little (a lot?) like cheating.

No missunderstanding though, robk's work is wonderful... this is only for those who, like me, want to preserve the political "fog of war"...

EDIT: of course, those who are interested, please confirm and re-confirm what of the info from the wheel should and should not be included, as I am not 100% sure... I don't remember seeing any indication in-game as to when two other civs sign a Def Pact, for example, but feel free to correct me if I am wrong. (In fact, please correct me!)

Thats the right approach. This would be really handy since in a previous unmodded game I made a DoF with arabia nad then the whole world hated me. If I had the wheel that just showed who is friends and who denounced who that would help immensely.
I think you need to show Dof, denounce, Embassies, and open borders. then your trade deals not the other players.

On another note, if you learn the inner workings enough it would be col to have a city-state wheel where you can see all your relations with city-states in a wheel (who is a friend, ally, etc)

I do like the rank ordering or demographics. I think the current one is too "foggy". If you'd keep the rank orders of those that would be cool. But not a necessity like the wheel.

I'd love an IA-'light', I barely use IA, because it feels like cheating to me, but sometimes I feel the vanilla game lacking. An inbetween would be excellent!

Anyway we might get an update to accommodate for 34 civilizations? YnAEMP got a 34-civilization update via DLL source release. Was using InfoAddict and several functions were clearly intended for up to only 22 civilizations.

Did you start a new thread for this? "deep diplo" or "diplo addict" something?
