Instant Karma 3 civ/player, no AI

UU's are not avail for any outside of team anything. WAY too unrealistic. Countries & leaders have bot, sold, rented, equiped, lend/leased regular units & their equipment thruout history. But also by definition, NOT unique units. (ergo, they would not be unique) :think:

What about Landsknechte and Numidian Cavalry though? Those units were mercenaries in real life.

* assumption is 1 gold = 1 hammer = 1 beaker... correct?

Yes and no. One hammer equals one gold when converting production into wealth, but one hammer equals three gold (two with Kremlin) the other way round, that is when rushbuying.

Yes dear. I knew U would come up with the exception that proves the rule. :thanx:

Excellent point(s). And with beakers...?

Any1? :scan:

That's more easily comparable to gold, but still not perfectly equivalent. Usually Research modifying buildings are easier to come by, but that's nitpicking.

Yeah it isn't easy to equate values. Like you could do with building wealth/research as you said. But then research sometimes has bonuses for known tech. But then early game you can farm for 1 food, mine for 2 hammers or cottage for growth of 1-2-3-4 commerce bonus.

Specialists give either 3 sci or 3 gold but 2 hammers.

Also as knoedel pointed out multiplier buildings affect this.

Then there is the unit itself - would you value a no xp unit the same as one which unlocks the heroic epic for example? That I think is the biggest flaw in your reasoning.

There is no exact equation. Hence it is better to be able to deal how players seem fit between themselves rather than an exact equation for trades.

Yeah, as much as you would never catch me saying that in real life, the free market should handle it here instead of arbitrary house rules.

My gosh gents... let's not put TOO much thot in this little issue. :crazyeye:

How about other players? Trade (non-UU) units for equal value units +/- gold?
=================================================
Meanwhile, bak to the situ in this shrinking little world we are competing on/for...
Mr.REM, your Evil seems to be building in that MASSIVE stak U have near our borders. Seems loaded with alot of offensive units if, as U claim, it is for "defensive" reasons. :dubious:
Just so U (& other ambitious leaders) R aware; wise (& also threatened) King Michkov of Babs, Viks, & English & my Arabs, Byzn, & Port have a Mutual Defense Pact.

A war mite be fun... however, we are inclined to pursue this contest peacefully. Will U so state? :agree: Publicly.

The only problem I see with buying units it's near impossible to police. That said I have nothing against it apart from the issue mentioned above. If we can agree on a hammer/gold ratio I trust the players here to abide by the proposed rules.

I can confirm that.

There's plenty of stuff that's hard to police, it's just something we have to live with and trust each other.
And how, pray tell, do we agree on a hammer/gold ratio? If you remember I once offered you to buy some of your special Viking Navigation promoted Galleys, for the very reason that they are faster than any ship I could normally produce, thus making them more valuable. Shouldn't that make them cost more? But even if we agree on a hammer/good ratio, how much worth is a promotion? I can only repeat myself, I am against arbitrary restrictions, either allow the players themselves to negotiate prizes or don't allow unit gifting at all.

Oh and before someone wants to scold us, that trade never happened because I remembered the house rule at the last moment and aborted the transaction.

About this whole defensive pact business, don't you guys think you are overreacting a little? I'm sure it's just a misunderstanding and my good dear friend REM has nothing but perfectly innocent motivations for his actions.

Oh I thought we agreed on a fixed hammer gold ratio just not the value that's why I brought it up. I don't really have an issue with negotiating the price between the two parties. That's the way I usually do it anyway

Nobody agreed one that, KenWyn is the only one advocating it.

Roll the free market! And I'm unsure why you are so concerned about the stack now, that has been there since my conquest of HRE! As I said where else do I need units? It's the only place I can get attacked!

ImpK, sometimes U R so full of ____.
I am NOT"the only one advocating it.".
As i recall YOU were the 1 all hot to allow just about anything & everything when we went into this game.

Enuf about this little time-waster.

NO unit anything outside of 3 team civs. Period.

March on.

You are the only one advocating trading units to fixed values. I wanted unit trading with no questions asked. Not that it matters what I think though, if something isn't going your way you do the equivalent of taking the ball and going home with it by just flat out forbidding everything.

U continue to be a raging A__h__e at times. :thumbsdown:
I'm the ADMINISTRATOR, not the dictator. Just like U R in any game U started. :yup:
If U bothered to read the post above yours before shooting off your keyboard (digital mouth), i had just posted the decision based on ALL input. In this case, the way U pitched for. :thumbsup:
===============================================
Just got turn file. Will go open it to see how much more Ottoman"defensive" stack has grown.
Regent REM, i have very serious doubts about their publically stated purpose. The way U built SO many little useless(other than whipping out units) cities thruout your domain + U just went into "Nationalism" which convn'ly allows U pump out units* via Draft + your announced logic of `...they are positioned in the only place i can be attacked from...' may be true, but so is the reverse `...it is the only place i can ATTACK from.' :eek:

Alas, sadly it seems that Space Race or Cultural victory may not the end result of this world. :sad:

* R U drafting up muskets or still at macemen? :huh:

Ugh, The Muff, is now drafting/cranking out Jan's! :trouble:
imho THE best UU in this world! :drool:

Redcoats and Beserkes are better. Hell, if I had the civs Mickov got I would have trained a whole lot of highly promoted Berserkes, then gifted them to England to upgrade to Redcoats, and then went on to win the game by conquest or Domination after having captured or razed every single coastal city on the planet. The only upgrade shenanigans I can pull off all involve the Guerrilla promotion courtesy of the celts.

Lord Really Evil of Ottoland: your continued stationing of LARGE, GROWING stacks of NON-defensive units within 1 move of my Peaceful Civs' borders = :eek:
Too much war prep going on. Enuf, sir! :cowboy:

We have closed our borders once again to evict the snooping chariots & other such units from our Peaceful lands. :scan:
U have seen enuf to satisfy yourself that we are NOT building offense weapons & have castled all our cities bordering your threatening hordes, manning them only with DEFENSIVE units. :trouble:
=========================================
Congrats, Wise ImpK, on your circling this world :goodjob:
... gr-r-r, U just beat me. :aargh:
