Interesting Perspective on US Foreign Aid

What's all this bollocks about Africans being lazy and corrupt? People are starving. Feed them.

The problem is that political leaders are corrupt so giving money =/= feed people

No-one gives cash anymore. The systems are smarter. People still find a way around the systems, but thats human nature.

Yes, but some ways are more effective than another. How I sent in this thread before: I read that someone from International Monetary Fund said, that if custom duties were lowered to half, that poor countries should gained about 140 milliards dollars per year. Its quite most efficient way to help by my opinion.

Nuke farm subs and agro tarrifs? Yeah, all for it. Europe could prob even get it past the french (in exchange for an end to the brit rebate) in the yanks will do likewise.

Of course. It's crazy that in a world dominated by stupid Bretton-Woods Washington-based institutions like the IMF and World Bank Group, who tell third world countries to open up their borders, privatize and liberalize, liberalize, liberalize, the most welfaring countries protect their industries with subsidies and taxes. That goes for both the EU and the US. What the heck is the WHO worth? Why should third world countries care to honour the TRIPs then??

Exactly. Something like unnatural this spending is IMHO main reason why poor countries cant develop better. Its in all fronts, no only French or Polish agriculture, every country made many barriers. I should understand about some strategic materials and products which should be defended to keep national, but these cases are about 0,01. I watched some document where is totally shown this unlogics...its very funny when Iceland (only example) have 150 percents custom on ananases and bananas....
