I trained the warriors mostly in the anicent age. But, I think I did sell away my last iron resource until a little ways into the industrial age.

It is in this scenario. Holland-Belguim of all people have taken Berlin from the USSR. And Sweden has taken another of the USSR's cities. China is losing its coastline to the UK as well.

Why are there two scandinavias?

Denmark-Norway and Sweden-Finland.

I've seen that happen a few times on my computer where I'd settle on turn 1 (or thereabouts), pop the GH, and then see the surroundings and then restart. A video artifact of some sort.

A settler and a goody hut can never start at the same tile. I have no clue what happened there in NickyH's game.

DWetzel is right. I was rolling a bunch of starts, and the message about the 25 gold was from the former start. Somehow the message stayed until the next start.
