Interesting Screenshots

Notice anything odd about this picture?

MickeyMouse.jpg

Spoiler :
It looks like Mickey Mouse.

Wow, I actually stared at that one marsh tile for about a minute, trying to figure out where the hell you guys were seeing Mickey or Pedobear, then I cracked my neck and I saw it.

Huh, I thought the weird thing was the bonus desert and plains.

he just has it set so you can see food and shields on the tiles.

that's just saying desert gives 1 shield
plains give 1 shield and 1 food, etc...

just a way to make the graphics look a bit less plain

Oh, huh. I thought those were the things you can see on bonus grasslands.

well... they are, so you're partially right. But on default preferances, you see the one shield on bonus grassland. With the preferences "see food/shields on tiles" checked on, you see the 2 food and the 1 shield on the tile, and reg. grassland is just the 2 food. So you weren't entirely wrong... just a matter of graphics :p

So I've been fighting a phony war against my Australian "friends" the Greeks. They finally decided to give peace a chance (I guess cause I bombed their navy to death) , so I dialed them up. I then noticed something my advisor said. Normally, this wouldn't be too odd, but look closer and you should see why it is.

That is really quite sad. Those poor, poor Greeks don't even have cars yet, let alone a battleship. And once again I say, stupid foriegn advisor.

Ooh, the thread has made it to 100 pages! Hail to the King, baby! Not too long 'til Jan 28(?) - everyone remember to start a Mass Regicide game and post the screenies ;)

Well, perhaps the game engine considers two technologies to be not soooo much difference (although Combustion and Electronics are exceptionally cool:cool:). Anyway, i have had neighbours with 5 less technologies than me, yet the advisor told they were quite equal to me:crazyeye:

Look at the tech I'm researching. They're 12 techs behind me, not 2.

Umm, 2 techs, maybe, but we're talking here at least:
Combustion, Electronics (on the table), Mech Transport, Flight, and Ecology (given that Synth Fibers is being researched), Computers (I can see the corner of a Mech Inf unit in the top-right corner of the pic). That makes at least 6 techs, and an era boundary, ahead.

The science adviser has clearly been working as a civil servant for far, far too long.

[Edit] Revenge of the cross-post!

I've never been able to figure out how that Easter Egg works. :(

This might not look interesting, but it gets interesting to me when I consider that I only have 20 cities and I know I still have a 2 turn worker pump in production, probably will get some others from pre-size 7 cities for a bit more and still have railroading and irrigation to do before adding them in like crazy.
