Interesting Screenshots

That is very cool, did you speed up research or increase the turn amount,Is the Cowboy still on the other side of the world?

In the first screen I was in fact already at the end of the industrial age, but I was researching espionage just because I felt like it.

The cowboy is now guarding te border of our gems colony at the other continent:

I'm surprised that's all you've built on your main continent. With such a large territory, I'm sure you'll be building a large amount of forces to move to one area at a time

Sure enough, I have 140 cities. They don't fit in 1 screenshot. :D
(I now own the complete Northen half of the eastern continent).

what I wanna' know is what happened with your gold? You went from 6797 and +1269 per turn to 1888 and +78 per turn

In the first screenshot I was doing 30% science, in the second one 70% science. The gold was spent on upgrading infantry to mech infantry. That and rushing libs for the culture expansions, and rushing aquaducts. A size 7 city has 3 unit support in republic, a size 6 city only 1. So you want even your corrupt cities to have an aquaduct.

oh, duh!
and with such a great tech lead, why don't you wipe out a few civs to build a few more cities?

I've kept this fact in mind in my latest histographic games. Industrious workers (for planting and chopping forests) and the agricultural trait (for faster growth pre-size 7 and cheaper aqueducts) and the Pyramids can all help in this respect... as can Replacable Parts (cue scientific trait). Anyways...

What's your desired VC ThinkTank and any special reason why you wanted such an enormous map?

And bombers only rebase at max 6 times the operational range, that's 60 tiles, which is not too much on a 320x320 map.

Piece of advice: When playing on super-huge maps, increase operational range so you don't have to spend a dozen turns airlifting bombers.

easy way I always did that... if you double the map size (which I believe you did) just double the range they have

No special VC in mind, just horsing around. I was working to conquest but it takes too much time. I wanted to play 31 civs on a map that has enough room so each civ can have a good amount of space. I find huge a bit too small for that, but 320x320 is a bit too large, as I did not realize the 512 city limit that the game has.

Try, say, 270x270.

Another fine example of AI competence....

I have seen this from many poster as well. They post a game that they are struggling with and you will find at least one town making something like a gran or cath in a size less than 5 with zero growth. So it is not just the AI.

Idiots;)

Hi, I'm new:goodjob:

I am sure the AI wished to be able to build a tactical nuke, but...;)

Hey, I'm giving them everything they need to build Tanks! How much more generous do you think I was going to be? (Besides it's from a 20K game, and as discussed elsewhere, Manhattan is singularly the most useless wonder....)

Only if you are at war.

I think the roads need to be pillaged?

Nah, having an unit(Dunno if it has to be offensive) on road tile, "blocks" that road.
Same with Naval blockade (sometimes it is smarter to naval-block an 1-5 city "isle" that lacks resources, just surround cities with your ships.

For blockades to work you need to be at war.
