The resemblance is uncanny.

The eastern continent has seen some heavy fighting, even before I had made contact with it. The Arabians have been whipped out before I was able to meet them.

Except of my conquest of Spain there has been no further border changes since them.

And while I had noticed during first contact, that Korea has its capital in Mecca, I did only realise now, that all three remaining korean cities are former arabian cities, while the original korean cities have become part of England, Spain and recently Mongolia. :crazyeye:

This is by the way the very first time I play the Mongols!

And now, I am waiting for a Elisabeth making a wrong step. :trouble:

A chain of my workers shows excactly where the gaps in the K.u.K. Railroad of Austria were. ;)

However the Austrians find this information not helpful. :D

The KI seems not to be interestest to use their railroad for fast deployment of their troops, instead they have each and every time large gaps, that prevent them from doing this.

And yes, I played this map a second time.;)

Incense.jpg

*cough cough* This is from a scenario with a random map. I had a galley with a spearman and settler, and found this Roman city Capua with no units nearby. *cough cough* So I landed my spearman next to it and took it. Later on, *cough cough* when the cities borders expanded, I got all the incense. Man, the smoke is so thick here. :whew:

AI will use armies, but afaik only loads one unit in them (?). It is why in some mods it is set so that the human can also just load one unit, with the bonus hp :)
AI also will use catapults/similar if it has them, but i am not sure if it will actually load them onto ships.

Btw, Kirejara, nice to see those old cities of mine used :D
Nice to see you are still around!

This ist the second Russian-Arabian-War.

Imperiatrica Aleksandra was most forgiving to Caliph Abu Bakr at the end of the first War, but she now has ordered to conquer all of Arabia after the second snake attack by arabian forces. Abu Bakr even did not bother to wait until the peace treaty expired after the last war (think of the outrage between the KI players if a human would dare to do that ;) ).

While the heaviest fighting is over, I noticed that the Arabian KI left a lovely area for a city unused, simply because it is a little too close to Bagdad and Damascus.

Seriously, would any human player leave that place unused?

I'm playing a scenario, but with a random map. Look at this island. It's nine tiles long!

My goodness. I like an occasional "Panama" city myself but that is to the nth degree.

where did the town go?
no-town-png.495219

it's a size 1 town, but no single building is shown in the View City Screen. my 7-year old found out... :)

Can it be, that some graphics in your City View\ Miscellaneous and Buildings folders are missing or be set to transparency?

Spoiler :
BtW.: Here you can see some screenshots that I did to compare the city view graphics of normal C3C and the mod CCM2:

What an effort, just to get salpeter!

32826655lv.jpg

On Tundra, Desert and Mountains can not be settled and my Fisherboats (naval construction unit) can not enter deep sea.

This is the Warhammer 40K map with redistributed resources and starting positions. And while I have all of Europa and Asia and about half of Africa (the other half belongs to Carthago, they have not attacked me yet), there is not a single salpeter resource on the Earth part of the map (America has none too).

On the other neither the French nor the Ottomans had salpeter too. They were the other nations in Europa and Asia beside me, but they attacked me...:trouble:

Kirejara, what are your observations about the AI and naval construction units?

In the tests of my mod the AI frequently disbanded their naval construction units without any reason and this also happened when those units were set to be 'not disbandable'.

Hi Civinator,

my naval construction units are the Fishing Boat (0/1/2, Map Making and one foot unit as cargo) and the Supply Ship (2/2/4, Combustion and two units as cargo). They are marked both as transport and as builder in KI strategies.

The KI builds sometimes some rather clueless searoutes in its territory, but mostly they used them as cheap naval transport.

I have left them enabled, but I canceled the sea oil fields, because of that.

But now my flock of Fisherboats has it next epic adventure ahead: returning to Europa in a 12 turn long journey for additional work in the homewaters.

And because the seas around America are infested with dutch and egypt Pirate Ships, I have rushed the Coastal Ironclad HMBS Indefatigable in Artica to protect them (as the pirates have an attack strength of 2 or 3 depending on techlevel, they do not dare to attack an ironclad).

Kirejara, thank you very much for your answer. I agree, that AI naval construction units (at least with our present knowledge) are not reliable and therefore its not the best idea to use them for connecting strategic or luxury water-resources. That´s why I did cut them out of my mod.

Again no picture, Sorry!

In my current running game is a long and bloody war between Ottomans and Chinese (I am nearly innocent in that ;) ).

I observed how the strong ottoman navy bombed the defenders in the chinese city of Chengdu to pulp, so that some rather weak ground troops could take the city.

And after two redlined Longbowmen took Chengdu, the complete ottoman fleet moved into the city.

Only that the Chinese had their turn after the Ottomans. And they retook it in the very same turn.

Meaning that some sorry Riders and Cavalry managed to cripple the ottoman fleet in one blow

3 Battleships, 6 Dreadnoughts, 4 Ships of Line, 8 Armored Cruisers, 1 Heavy Cruiser, 3 Protected Cruisers, 4 Destroyers, 1 Destroyer Escort, 2 Ironclads, 1 Steam Frigate, 1 Aircraft Carrier and 2 Transports were scuttled in Chengdu (I checked via spy network).

The Ottomans have only a handful of warships left, that were assigned to escort duty for troop transports.

It is a pity that you can not capture ships and aircraft like workers when conquering a city.

EDIT: In the very next turn, they repeated it in ottoman occupied Fuzhou. A Steam Barque with its escorts (1 Steam Frigate and 2 Destroyers) went into the harbour right before chinese T-34 and Riders overrun Fuzhou.
