Interesting Screenshots

You can only capture units that you can build. This is also why you can't capture a Hwaca.

No. It is as I said. The units you can build you can capture. You cannot build leaders, and thus you cannot capture them.

I always figured that there's an assumption that you "update" your map as you go along and it stays that way until you re-visit a given area.
well yeah, it turns grey after you leave the place. Then when you revisit the place you see the changes made after you left.
Sounds like logic to me...

I wonder if it is possible to set leaders in the editor so they can be captured?

Evidently not, but it would be a bit silly, anyway. Is someone you captured from another country going to be the same kind of leader if forced to perform on your behalf?

If anything, I would expect the capture of a great leader to demoralize (or possibly inflame) the opposing populace. Is it possible to set the capture of a great leader as a major factor in war weariness, for example? That would make more sense to me.

I wanted Ragnar's World Map to know about the railroads of some of my enemies. So when I asked him what he wanted for it, I got an answer that means he is obviously high on some drug:

I then proceeded to buy the map for 14 gold. :)

I've played one more turn, and he doesn't yet have ToG. :smug:

In the pic you can see the Reg Spear with one HP missing and you can see the stack (it's 3 cavs). The 1-HP elite cav on top and another one just like it were taken down by that spear who lost only one HP but did not promote.

For the next round, I did have another Vet Cav who took that guy out but it is really annoying. :hammer:

I played more than 40 turns of war as the militaristic Japanese and didn't see a single MGL the whole game.:crazyeye: I had lots of elites... most of whom got dead in nothing little skirmishes <<<sigh>>>

Good old RNG! You must not have sacrificed anything; you always must when fighting a spear with anything more advanced than it.

yep! my mistake. I was going to start my neko cat and sacrifice him to the RNG's and plum forgot.

The best thing that I have come up with to kill Ancient Age units while taking minimal damage in return is a Crusader. Anything higher level, and the RNG bias kicks in with a vengeance. And that holds true even when I have boosted the higher tech level units.

Interesting. My experience with crusaders is the opposite. They suck eggs at combat, they usually lose to spearmen.

Look at F1 screen before you switch and see the difference income and out going cost. Then check after the revolt and see what was affected.

If you have CAII, you can see this without a revolt on the econ screen.

What??????

The AI always aims high when you ask them. And I find that when there is a tech you know that they don't, they will virtually always ask for it even if it would be patently ridiculous for you to give it to them. Got to give them credit for trying. After all, your finger could slip.

I know mine has, on occasion.
