It's a hot gateway indeed. :)

Heh, risky indeed. Thermopylae could be gone any turn.

Here's a screenshot from a current game I'm playing as the Mongols:

Settlers.JPG

First it was one settler, now two settlers. Just standing there.
The barbarians probably made them freeze (even though there are no barbarians in the area!) :crazyeye:

LOL. I thought the AI knew that Settler Pairs are not pairs of settlers, they are a settler and a defensive unit.

4 free workers, eh? :mischief:

What an idjit. Is that a BG southeast of the city? You'd think it would assign one of them there.

I think they set the governor to "Emphasize Commerce" and "De-Emphasize Production", a.k.a., make sure city is producing as few shields as possible.

For some reason the AI is only using water tiles.
Usually, whenever you pop-rush something, the AI (and the governor) tends to use all of the tiles with most commerce. In this case, the coastal tiles gives more commerce.

LOL, Emperor (The Difficulty, which I can tell from the food/shield bins) Shaka has only reg impis.

This is from my game as Rome I am having a very hard time with Sumeria I lost a army of knights to a culture flip  I get MT two turns later upgrade my knights, then send 3 of them to attack the town of Kish on a hill protected by an Enkidu warrior he kills one Cav and beats the living hell out of the other two  I am a little upset but I will be okay

Why is there a single visible tile of a city there?

I think it's because Kumquat destroyed their capitol and that's the new one.

It was captured- you can see the city name "Ur" in the screenshot. :p

But how would that show him the square?

This one is a funny mostly because I did not know if you double click a unit you do not own you get this;
WTF_.JPG

Captured, then. When you capture or destroy an AI capitol and their new capitol is hidden in the fog, you get the result shown in the screenshot. I'm not sure why, but I've seen it several times.

I think it only happens if you had an Embassy before the war. I've seen it happen when during AI-AI wars too.

The only way the AI can hide is when they are wandering around with a settler, it gets really annoying when they have it on a boat at the other side of where ever you are.
