The AI is dumb with their army usage. They'll take any old unit and load it on. I've seen AI armies consisting of a warrior, horseman, and archer... talk about rediculous! I think I had two of my own horsemen take down the whole thing!

Case in point here... the one army of Joan's looks like three regular swordsmen.

I had to build this because I just took out the Sumerians who owned the Ivory and didn't get to build it themselves. It was all just in honour of the Sumerians... yeah that's the ticket.

This is just one of those things that happen in civ games now and then.

I took the last enemy city, got my pyramids built (nothing else to do at that point) and triggered my Golden Age

I never did get a government tech. It was an AW game of sorts and I only got techs that I had to have or that would make war easier.

And why did you send that one Curragh to explore the whole world but none to go in the other direction?

its probably a OCC (one city challenge/conquest) and he needed the time building the second curragh for building a temple and, as you see in the picture, the Great Lighthouse

Thats just random OCC, problem is I don't know HOW and I've been already in like 3 wars (have always agreed with their demands)..

for me, using a choke point means that you put a city on the middle of it. I'd have a city there so fast ... to aid sea travel if nothing else.

The AI can use 1 tile chokepoints, certainly... but anything wider than one tile and they just ignore it, sadly.
