Internet Game - CFC game

Knoedel, gpcii and myself played RFC multiplayer, working together on the toughest difficulty to survive into the medieval age. It was but lots of fun.

I am available again tonight (ie. 6 hours!) to do it again if people are around. I've sent emails to Knoedel, gpcii, HBHR and Eclipse personally to get in the game. I also have my friend who should be available.

We can potentially pick up the RFC game from last night with new additions, or start something new. This is my last night to be able to do this until... well probably next year around the same.

Anyone else who wants to join in or is interested PM me or post here, let's get a game going in 5-6 hours!

well it was a new mod to you, so there were things to learn... anytime you try a new mod theres gonna be a learning curve!

Anyway, Eclipse is in for a game tonight, but I havent heard from Knoedel (hes probably sleeping)... if/when it gets going I'll make it a private game with a pw, but ill set it up to let you join in after it gets started.

Well considering youll be joining late, Eclipse and my friend will be new and I haven't heard from Knoedel at all... I'm thinking new. Let me see what Eclipse and my friend want to in terms of type of game and I'll let you know.

Anyone who sees this thread, I am going to be starting a new game shortly similar to last night. This is a longer term commitment game, at least 5 hours or so tonight.

We are using the RFC multiplayer mod, so you'll need that.

Open the mod, and join the gamespy lobby to join in. The game will be called "CFC" and the password will be "1234". EVeryone is welcome to join in the game! I'm going to be setting the options to allow people to join mid-game.

There will be no turn timer and this is perfect for us PBEM players who are used to a slower pace.

Probably won't finish the game, but it will be fun to play anyway!

Well, this was certainly something. We made it to the Renaissance as Rome and Carthage.

Jup. It was awesome. We stopped when I finally got everything back I had one thousand years ago, from Bordeaux to Babylon, from Linz to Niwt-Rst. Persia collapsed, the Arabs were pushed into irrelevance, my Legions not only recovered everything the Ottomans flipped from me, they even forced Mehmed to capitulate to me with nothing more than two crap cities in the Caucasus. Oh and I razed Paris because I was sick of hoarding AIs that rather die than give me even their cheapest tech.
That is how you play Rome in RFC.
Oh and Nighthawk conquered something too I guess, Spain and Mali but he obviously had no idea of stability management so he lost them again.

So I was thinking, Some people have a "bowling night" or a "Poker night". What about a "Civ Night"?

Get a few dedicated PBEMers to agree on one night a week where we play a continuing story. 2-4 hours at a time. Worst case scenario is that someone has to bale and let AI run things for a night.

It's a good idea... the only difficulty is... which night? And at what time?

I would like to be in but... it depends on the answers to the above (when)...

Just one thing: you say to "let AI run things for a night"... can that be done? Ooooh, in online games it can... ah! Good!

Dunno, one of you two suggest a time, I don´t care. Maybe it´d be the best if I host these games while I´m at it, seeing as I am available practically 24/7 in the foreseeable future.
