Internet is running very slow

Hello. This is like the zillionth time I'm posting a help me thread in this forum.

I just reinstalled Windows XP Pro, because I had some trouble with it, but now my internet is running extremly slow.

I have a 256 cable modem, and even though that isn't the fastest on earth it used to be a lot faster than it is now.

Just slow on the site or for everything internet related?

The site is very slow on its own right now.

Everything. It's not only the loading that is slow, but it also scrolls very slow.

I discovered I have more trouble after reinstalling windows. It says that there is no speakers connected, but there is, so I can't use them either. Also when I choose "close computer" there is no longer a standby option, only "close" and "restart".

you need to install video card drivers, sound card drivers, motherboard drivers.

Aha. I guess I would have them on some cd laying around.
