Spoiler :
After advancing with their ground forces, the Ottomans began air bombing of the city of Kukia.

The US continued and continued to try to convince the Ottoman government to stop the war, but all negotiations were hitting a brick wall.
2012-12-01_00014.jpg

The United States did not have enough forces in Songhai territory to cover every gap that the Ottomans could come through. So they worried that the Ottomans would find a gap and would take Kukia. These fears became real, when Ottoman ground forces entered the city of Kukia, and brought it under Turkish control.

The Ottoman army then turned it's attention to the new Songhai capital, their enemy's last major city.

The US was beginning to think that war with the Ottomans might be imminent, and some of the US airforce helping against the Aztecs were ordered to the northern continent in case war broke out.

The Ottomans had already taken up positions outside the city of Kumbi Saleh, so the only way for the US to dislodge them now would be through open conflict. Thus, American forces headed back toward Tyre to get a better battle position for what they thought could be a war about to start.

The world watched, as tensions soared to an all time high. The US even considered signing a peace treaty with the Aztecs in order to have more forces to fight the Ottomans.

And finally, the Songhai capital fell.
2012-12-01_00032.jpg

The United States seemed on the verge of beginning a campaign to liberate Songhai lands. But at the last instance, the US at least partially back down, not being sure if it wanted to liberate the Songhai that badly. However, there was still a chance that a war could break out, and the future was uncertain...

Sorry, I would have liked to have done a longer update, but I'm really just not sure what to do yet.The stakes are so high right now!I don't know if I want to go to war with them just liberate the Songhai.

its alright. I can never find a game where I am in the position of liberator instead of conqueror...

Go and liberate Songhay! But that is a lot of stuff the Ottomans brought over the waters...

how did you manage to bring your gpt back up? I was reading through this thread today and i was gonna say... alot of the land you captured is filled with railways... maybe sending a couple of workers there to change them to roads, as well as building trading posts would allow you to have more gpt, and therefore a bigger army...

to follow this story and see your little nation turn into a great empire is awesome. hope more is coming soon

Well, we're not just trying to be an empire, but just trying to do what is right in the world.

An update probably coming in a little while.;)

Edit:Hopefully about to play the next update, that is, if I can come to a decision about what to do about the Ottomans...

As of the last update, are they not @ your front door killing songhai. Sound like a long war with Suleiman.

Well, you'll find out soon enough, because the update's about to come.It takes a little while to do these, though.

I think I might be gonna get G&K pretty soon, so I wanted to get one more update in before(and if)that happens. And here it is!

Spoiler :
As the US government continued the debate on what should be done about the Ottoman occupation of Songhai territory, the US army stood ready to respond to any orders.
2012-12-12_00002.jpg

But the American people were weary and tired of always being in a war somewhere. And with the end of the Aztec War in sight, American citizens objected to starting any new wars. The US government also did not want a war, as it was not sure how a war with the Fascist Superpower would turn out.Eventually, the US government decided not to do anything about the Ottoman occupation, at least for now.But the US still kept a large military force on the northern continent for defense and just in case the US ever decided to drive out the Ottoman occupation.
2012-12-12_00003.jpg

Still, though, relations between the US and the Ottomans remained strained. And some considered the successful Ottoman occupation of the Songhai to be a defeat for America in the "Cold War" between the two superpowers.

Yet some Americans wondered if peace with the Ottomans could be continued forever. Some Americans thought that one day the Ottomans would eventually try to avenge it's losses from the first war it had with the US so many years ago.

Some Americans also considered the chance that the Ottomans might try to gain Siamese support if they ever attacked the US again, and open up another front against the US.Although not considered a superpower, the Siamese were by no means weak. And both the Ottomans and the Siamese had suffered losses from America. The Ottomans had lost one of their cities in their long ago war with the US, and the Siamese had suffered an outright defeat and the loss of alot of their land to the US.Although different in ideology, both nations shared a dislike of and desire for revenge on America, something that some Americans feared might eventually cause a deadly war on two different fronts.

And in the Aztec War, American forces, no longer distracted by the thought of leaving to fight the Ottomans, continued their offensive, this time attacking the former Persian Capital of Persepolis.
2012-12-12_00006.jpg

The Aztec defenders would not give in easily, but eventually, after a long siege, the city finally fell.
2012-12-12_00032.jpg

The US also began engaging in profitable trading with the New Persian State.
2012-12-12_00017.jpg

And the whole military campaign that the American army was now performing had to do with Persia. The US was fairly certain that if the war with the Aztecs ended, that the Aztecs would not recognize the independence of Persia, and that they might just conquer it again. To prevent this from happening, the US determined that what would probably be the final campaign of the war, would be a push to create a buffer zone between the Aztecs and Persia.

After the victory at Persepolis, the American forces battled the remaining Aztec troops near the city, and prepared for the final push to Bactra.
2012-12-12_00039.jpg

American citizens watched the news eagerly in anticipation of American victory and perhaps years of peace for America in the future....

Now come to think of it, its pretty surprising that Monty was able to take out the Persians...

And peace will come... once that giant crimson blob of Aztec is split between blue Washington and red Darius :D
