Very interesting. The content of the article is not all that surprising. "Them that has, gets" is pretty widely accepted tenet of economics. However, it is usually used in the context of colonialism and exploitation. Some mixture of political correctness and a preference for easy solutions makes the idea that poor people and poor countries remain poor because they are exploited by rich people and countries more palatable to many people than the analysis in this article.
