Introducing Pentagone, the latest virus

Just wanted to warn folks about a new virus called Pentagone. It comes with "Hi" in the subject line, and it contains a gone.scr attachment that disables and then deletes selected virus checkers and does all sorts of other nasty stuff.

It spreads through MS Outlook (of course!) and -- the reason why I'm posting this here -- ICQ. There seem to be a lot of ICQ users on these boards, and I can't recall another virus that spread that way.

Of course, that didn't matter at my office. People here use outlook, and apparently someone with no brain and a love of screensavers opened the damned thing, crippling our email server. Consider yourselves warned.

Yep, saw it today also, plus some other nasty stuff.

Best advice is never open mail if you don't recognize the sender, and if the title is "hi" from someone you know with an attachment, contact the sender and ask about it BEFORE opening it.

a little common sense goes a long way in virus fighting,
unfortunately,many,many people that have access to computers,don't have any common sense.Especially certain office workers.
