OOC : who has the north african stretch of land ?

New Spain
1 IP

1 IP on: Irregular

Three hundred pounds per annum spent
On making brain and body meeter
For all the murderous intent
Comprised in "villainous saltpetre".
And after?- Ask the Yusufzaies
What comes of all our 'ologies.

A scrimmage in a Border Station-
A canter down some dark defile
Two thousand pounds of education
Drops to a ten-rupee jezail.
The Crammer's boast, the Squadron's pride,
Shot like a rabbit in a ride!

FROM: Celtic Union
TO: Italia
As of yet you have not given an acceptable response. If we do not receive one by the time orders lock our merchants and warships will set course for Norskandia. You have four hours and twenty minutes to respond.

OOC: LH - if I don't receive a response I'm going ahead with the original plan of escorting trade through the blockade. However it's up to Italia and Romania-Yugoslavia if they want to turn this into an armed conflict.

Anyone who launched spy missions this turn and is confused about whether you succeeded and if you took any losses, PM me.

First off, Iberia finished off New Spain. No real surprises. They got their butts KICKED in California though, losing a Regular on the attack. The Dene dispatch troops into Deseret, and so do the Iberians. A three-way brawl ends badly for the Iberians, COMPLETELY annihilating their force at the cost of a single Dene Regular. The Dene swiftly seize control.

The Iberians refuse to withdraw their armed privateer from the California Coast, and thus the Dene fleet begins forging southward. A quick naval battle erupts, leading to an absolute defeat for Iberia, with the loss of their privateer.

The Chinese swiftly drive into Yunnan, liberating it and destroying a unit of Irregulars with no casualties. The Iron Islands have overextended themselves and now lie at the mercy of China and Australia. Speaking of, the Australians Blockade the Iron Islands, destroying their last ship of the line and a light privateer easily along the way. The Philippine Privateer attacks an Iron Islands version of itself off New Zealand and gets a royal buttkicking for its trouble.

South Africa has requested Protectorate Status from the United Kingdom.

Nine Irregulars burst out in a massive rebellion across Brandenburg. The Prussians are up against . . . . nothing, since the only two unoccupied Italian Regulars desert, paid off by Norskandian spies. The new state of Prussia is formed, and requests protectorate status from The United Kingdom of Iberia.

A spate of explosions and accidents of potentially sinister origins sweep through the Cape Republic, halfway around the world. Five Industrial Points are utterly destroyed in Argentina. The Gulf Coast's defenders repulse the Cape Republic claiming attempt . . . as do the Falklanders. No casualties. New Wales seizes the Antilles easily.

The world's first coalition engagement brews in the Battle of the North Sea as the Italian-Romanian fleets engage a Norskandian squadron aiming to break the blockade. Cannons roar as broadsides are traded between two Italian Privateers, two Romanian Ships of the Line, and two Norskandian of the one and one of the other. The Norskandian ship of the line is destroyed in the one-sided engagement, but the privateers flee northward, running into a Romanian squadron of one Ship of the Line and another Privateer. One Romanian Privateer is lost, but the Norskandians are obliterated. The remaining Romanian Privateer withdraws to the Mediterranean and Blockades the Ottomans.

The southern alliance launches its main offensives: North Urals holds, but Karelia falls with a complete loss of the Irregular defending it, with no Romanian losses. Next up: the Romanian attack into Poland-Lithuania. A dramatic victory in Muscovy destroys the Polish Irregulars completely, followed by a vicious battle in Russia. The Poles retire their Regulars intact, but the Romanian general is struck by a cannonball and killed. Poland has lost half its territory and now faces the grim prospect of a serious Romanian invasion.

A massive Italian invasion hits Norway's beaches: 3 Regulars and one Irregular storm inland, opposed only by a single Irregular. Can the Norskandia-

Yes. Yes they can. The Italian Irregulars are destroyed, and the Regulars forced into retreat. Norskandia has driven off an invasion out powering them 13 to 1. Westphalia and Austria are quickly pacified.

Keme loses an Irregular in a failed attempt to colonize Iraq, but seizes Algeria quickly. Congo, Angola and East Africa fall quickly. Keme sends a detatchment of three Regular regiments into Anatolia against the six Ottoman Irregulars. A Keme regular is killed outright, the Keme troops fleeing without inflicting any casualties. The Ottomans turtle up.

A ten-regiment insurrection storms up from Bolivia in the Cape Republic. Perhaps sinister, perhaps not - who can tell? In any event, ten Irregulars under Bolivian banners now oppose the Cape Army - of only one Irregular. The Cape Irregular is destroyed and the new state of Bolivia rises.

As always report the mistakes!

My armies did nothing ? :O
also, 3 Ships of the Line, instead of 2

Your PM'd orders said nothing about any actions except building Regulars. I recall you posted something in the thread though . . . let me repeat this:

*ALL* orders must be in the latest PM. I refuse to calculate orders from 2 PMs, a VM and 3 seperate thread posts, or any larger or smaller combination, simply because of the amount of work involved. If I'm generous and feeling like hunting and working hard, you might get a little leniency but don't count on it.

A state funeral will be held to honor Igorek Arseni & all brave troops who gave their lives in the recent campaigns against the Norskandian Alliance.

General LongWolf regained his honor in a series of fierce engagements that stripped the Hopi and the Iberian’s of their strength.
His light cavalry harassed the Spanish continuously, deliberately targeting one knight or noble at a time.
Because they were who they were, each death or capture would have a significant impact in Spain.

The remnants of the United Kingdom’s forces withdrew into their Mexican holdings.
Lord Redbird enjoyed his subsequent meeting to inform the Queen on the matter.

The Cape Republic: 38 IP

Set 10 IP into Argentina's industry.

Set 6 IP into 6 spies, all set to defend the Republic.

12 IP into 4 regulars.

10IP into 10 irregulars.

Set the 4 regulars and 10 irregulars to reclaim Bolivia. The Republic will remain united!

Has the 2 regulars set for the Falklands and the two set for the Ivory Coast to try again in their claiments.

Okay, California I don't mind. Not even Colorado much either. They werre lawless territioreis and I could expect confusion over who is the legitimite owners of the regions.

But attacking my fleet? That's war.

I look foward on killing all the natives up to Alaska

What? 13 to 1? What were the rolls?

That should not be possible... ever.

You: 13STR
Them: 1STR
Total: 1-14 STR, 14 being a Norskandian win
Result: 14

Perhaps they laid sea mines and prevented your fleet from getting in to land troops. Maybe they sabotaged local infrastructure to the level you couldn't make significant inroads and remain essentially camped on the beaches. Maybe they overpowered your elements a unit at a time and fought a guerilla war. Maybe your general on that attack was a chronic drinker. Weird stuff happens.
