Chronicles of King John of Canada
KING JOHN looked out from the balcony at the workers toiling below. Slowly but surely, Ottawa was being rebuilt. What had triggered the sudden collapse of global infrastructure nobody knew; some blamed the Euro Crisis, others, Islamofascism, and a select few, "teh furry", specifically some delinquent named Enerjak. King John knew the
true cause, of course, and knew it must never be uttered lest the global albatross population be rendered extinct.
The first order of business was to re-establish the provincial and territorial capitals: Edmonton, Winnipeg, Whitehorse, Victoria, Charlottetown, St. John's, Fredericton, Québec, Yellowknife, Iqaluit, Regina, Halifax, and yes, even Toronto. In addition, manufacturing facilities would need to be erected for the monumental task that was to follow: the restoration of the great country, the second-largest in the world.
