IOT: Land Ho! [Redux]

I thought you mean in chans where at least one territory was adjacent or accessible by water. Not just random provinces anywhere.

By chain I meant as long as they're contiguous with the previous claim. Not really random.

But alright, I'll edit the order.

EDIT: reading the new posts.... Hey, Tyo, when did you get so hot all of a sudden? :P

Not quite sure what you mean.

Wait, but aren't you the grey nation? I didn't even offer you a NAP! But we will take it nevertheless. I will gladly stop all plans I had for offering the green nation a protectorate as we see that this would interfere with your claims. And we will stop our Eastern European claims as well. However, we must insist that you don't try and protectorate/annex/conquer the orange nation.

I'll post an updated claims map. LATER.

I misread your post about NAP's, taking it to mean you offered them to all people. That's what I get for skimming, I guess. But yeah, I'm still for it. And OK.

Not quite sure what you mean.

Whups, that was for K-A. I seem to be messing up stuff lately! I meant it for whoever controlled the Pope :goodjob:

New orders:

The Kingdom of Normandy
30 EP

4 EP - 4 Navies
16 EP - American Expedition (Iron Leadership reduces it by 20%)
10 EP - 10 Armies

In addition, the Kingdom of Normandy and Greater Celtia have agreed to return several English provinces to their rightful owners in exchange for the Welsh provinces.

Okay then.

All EPs into expansion into the Lavender coloured provinces:

This:

OOC: I'm pretty sure you can only claim 3 provinces/turn at game start.

ARRRR!!! KILL THAT FLAG WITH FIRE!!! /hey, this is just me, do what you feel. :)

From the Roman Empire:

Whosoever protects us from the Turks gets passage. This means please make us your protectorate, or, if you can't afford that, ally with us.

OOC: Well I don't think I can make the former Empire my protectorate due to their trait, but...

IC: ...We will operate in a defensive alliance with them. If the Turks are spotted coming towards Roman soil, Jerusalem will be sure to act accordingly against the Turks immediately.

We also offer an alliance with the Balkan nation.

OOC: Oh crap I forgot. Then DP.

IC: We Romans thank you.

And the Balkan Nation accepts.

OOC: I prefer diplomatic actions with NPC's in the embassy.

From the diary of Ansgar Waechter, Captain of the Kaiserwache:

January 1, 1486

The whisperings have gained strength in these halls these past months. The air of war once again fills my lungs, and the smell of battle nearly tickles my nose. First, the whisperings were the usual type of darkness and hidden potential and treasonous pondering. As one of the select few to progress beyond this, talk of war with the Traitor gained support from a third Adlige in the court. Then a fourth, then a fifth. Soon a document was drafted, and the whisperings reached a fever pitch. It is astounding how often men of power, even Junkers, can see guards as wall ornaments. Even royal guards such as ourselves! Do they truly believe conversations in 'deserted' halls do not reach my ears?

The Kaiser accepted their proposal today, finally. After several draftings and several dozen arguments and threats, war was declared against the Traitor. I have doubled the weekly training routine of my men, and have begun officer training in my rather generous lodgings within the Castle. We march in five months.

January 2, 1486

Conrad Schierholtz, one of my officers-in-training, is showing exceptional skill with tactics. I shall advance him early to soldier interaction, while maintaining a rigorous course-load. I may propose to the Kaiser an especially grand promotion.

January 3, 1486

Wurfel has been removed from my program. He is a poor excuse of a man. Sadly, he some Junker's second cousin, and so I must offer him the "grander" position of Royal Guard. He shall derive delight, I am sure, from guarding the Royal Latrines.

At this point, several dozen pages seem to have been ripped from his journal. Although there is no trace of them left, the name Katrina could be discerned from marks left by the pressure of his pen on the following, un-torn page. This historian has chosen to leave that story in the past (the gold of a mysteriously disgraced Junker has helped assure that, rest assured).

June 21, 1486

It is the summer solstice, and has been chosen as the first day we march. Troops have been assembled in Westphalia, Kalenberg and Ansbach, somewhere in the countrysides. I travel with the Kaiser, and we are currently in Köln with several generals and the majority of the Kaiserwache. To my great pleasure, one of these generals is Schierholtz, who I somehow managed to have raised to a rank equal to my own. For the moment, at least. If he performs as well as he can, he may become a true Adlige and not simply a landed man like myself. I could certainly use the influence of a new Junker in the court.

As soon as the plans are finalized and agreed upon, we march. We plan to attack on three fronts: One entering rebel territory from Westphalia, our current position, by marching West until we meet Burgundy. A second army shall do the same farther south, pushing the line into Baden from Ansbach. A third and final army shall march from Kalenberg into Brandenberg, first to mop up encircled rebellious towns and then march to Berlin. It shall be a good day.

June 21, 1486

It seems I shall have to make a second entry, for this is news worth mentioning. It seems the Kaiser made a secret agreement with the Burgundians, promising them German land in order to gain their support in the war effort. Although I, like any true German man, do not relish the thought of foreigners occupying ancestral soil, the Burgundians are similar enough that it may be tolerated. Their dozens of divisions shall be no small return, either. Together, we may quickly crush the treacherous threat of the south once and for all, completely and forever. Some generals disapproved, but Schierholtz argued that if it would help Prussia regain much of the Vaterland.

I shall continue my mission to record all sources on the subject of the "Prussian Civil War" as foreigners call it at a later time.

When we begin to explore the New World, will everyone be able to see our new territories or just us? As in, would Mali for example know where the Norman colonies were?

I will post the maps publicly.

Prussia nice RP

I quite like the idea of trading maps.

But I am sure the word would spread, would it not? It is impossible to keep such a large secret for long. However, things change with each telling; perhaps when the Americas are discovered the publicly released map can have mis-located foreign nations while the adventurer is sent the real map?

Then again, we shall most likely have to explore province by province, no? It's not as if Columbus set foot in Bahamas and suddenly had a map of all North and South America!

EDIT: ninja'd

The map everyone will see will expand slowly, depending on where you place your colonies. So first it will just be the eastern fringes, and then some more, and then eventually everything.

People with actual colonies will see more sooner than those without or with fewer, less extensive colonies.

Same for the other continents.

Also when you first explore a given continent I will randomly decide what small portion of the map to show you. This will expand with time.
