Making an executive decision: I'm adding sea zones. So that you can't attack halfway across the world, something patently absurd for this time period. I had ripped this map of a more modern IOT, where such travel is actually possible. I now realize I should have done this earlier.

North Africa was incredibly disorganized, so it wasn't exactly difficult to do that.

In any event, watch out for a half-way update within half an hour or so.

Well I decided to make it quick.

In effect various heretical groups (Protestants in Catholic countries, Catholics in Protestant countries) have picked up their arms and revolted. Should you be unable to suppress them within the turn, they will defect or form independent states.

Countries like the UK with elements of heresy weakness got hit harder.

All start off with 5 armies per province controlled.

Rebels in deep purple.

I'm Muslim and I get Catholic/Protestant rebels in three provinces, but Hungary which is Christian gets no rebels...

Additional orders

Divert about 20 armies to destroy the rebels in the West. Grant amnesty to any who surrender peacefully (the best and most repentent of the rebels may even have the honour of being incorporated into the Imperial Army). If they insist on rebelling, kill them without mercy, confiscate their fields and water the fields with their blood.

Surely you, as knowledgable about history as you are, would not contend that a Muslim power dead center in the Middle of Europe would produce less resentment than a similar Catholic one?
