IOT XV: Clanking of the Swords

We are the Pan-Latin force! We will unite the Latin peoples! Hail the Vargas!

In relative news we ask: any wish to ally with us in a grand alliance of order and protection? We are prepared to short the name out once we have a idea of the alliance make up.

The Central Asian Republic is open to trade deals and alliances.

Fancy a alliance? We are pleased if you accept trade too. :)

You have oil, yes?
We can trade cars and weaponry for oil or otherwise natural resources.
(OOC: wait the game hasn't even started yet)

The Confederacy demands that Panama renounce all claims to Texas. Continuation of such claims will result in barriers to diplomatic relations between our two nations, a problem considering the likely tensions over both of our projected expansions into Mexico.

However, the Confederacy might be open to a deal wherein the Confederacy gains recognition of all Carribean Islands as Confederate Protectorates and Panama is recognized by the Confederacy as the rightful Protector of Mexico. It is the Confederacy's hope that the leaders of Panama will exhibit as much sanity as can be expected from an inferior Native race and realize that this deal is good for both parties.

EDIT: Also, the Confederacy would like to call on her fellow American successor states to put aside their differences and form an alliance, economic and military. Not only do we owe this to the memory of our once great nation, but it will help protect us from such threats as the Panamanians to the south.

EDIT2: The opinions and beliefs of the Confederacy do not reflect my own, I'm just trying to play it as realistically as possible.

I have a idea.

How about we agree that Texas was a dream that Dídac Santiago had? We could say we were role playing the relationship between the CSA and Dídac Santiago in his last years (he died in 1948) as Imperator. Jordana Vargas will focus on expanding before "drawing the lines," although I am going to make a demand: Cuba will be on my list instead of Texas.

Deal?

Deal?
Unacceptable. The Confederacy will not allow a foreign stronghold so close to her homeland.

The Confederacy again offers the Mexico/Carribean deal.

Wait, wait, wait... we agreed are not taking Texas! Your "Mexican deal" was specifically about Mexico, not the Caribean. Cuba has been one of our long turn strategy to ensure navy security.

Cuba is to us as Texas will be to you. We will however agree to allow you a naval base in Imperium Cuba as a sign of non-aggression. Deal?

OOC: say... could be possible to split Cuba up? NN; would this be ok?

the Ottoman Empire supports the Confederate state against panama. though we really shouldn't care in the slightest, we still think the confederates have a greater claim to Texas.

...and what gain would the Ottoman have in this?

Texas was Dídac Santiago's notion, not Jordana's. We are also not amused with the aggression generating that powers will attempt.

We should also warn the Ottoman Empire that we are currently hoping for a alliance with Rome. Needless to say this may mean the Ottoman needs to heed diplomacy.

no gain. just our opinion. and we dont care if you ally with Rome.

Map updated, you now have 15 provinces each, if someone doesnt like what provinces I've given them please say so. Also new people who join should claim 15.

The deal we offered was recognition of your claims to Mexico (not including any territory formwely held by the United States) in exchange for your recognition of our claim on the Carribean. The only other diplomatic hand we had reached out was a proposal to draw sphere of influence borders in Mexico.

Perhaps we can agree to a modified Mexico-Carribbean Deal. We can split the two regions equally (ie we both have the same number of provinces between the two regions), generally along a North-South line. The CSA must, however, have Cuba in any such deal.

Also, your comparison of Texas and Cuba is flawed. Cuba is not right next to your core regions as Cuba and Texas are to ours.

Just so we're clear, Texas was never on the table. Even if you had persisted in your folly, the CSA would never have allowed you actual entry into the Western Territory.
