Rome asks the Confederation why it condemns us when we have asked from both you and our allies to calm down?

We condemn your escalation of the delicate diplomatic situation in the Americas. It is obvious that the Confederacy and Panama have issues, and you allying yourself with Panama only serves to increase tensions with the Confederacy.

The Imperium greets its Mexican neighbours and hopes for good relations.

Our expansion is clear: south and any parts of the Caribbean uncontested, with perhaps colonial considerations for beyond America.

May Rome and Panama stand till the end of days!

Did you know that forum rules state that you must provide a translation for everything you write not in English? :)

OOC: Based on alpav's history I assumed we'd have a treaty. We talked about it and agreed, so I wrote this up. Thanks to Jay's Treaty for the language and ideas in the introduction part and elsewhere :D

The Nahua-Confederacy Treaty of Amity, Commerce, and Alliance

The Nahuatl Federation and the Confederated States of America, being desirous to, by a treaty of amity, commerce, and alliance, terminate their differences in such a manner as to produce mutual satisfaction and good understanding; and also to regulate the commerce and alliances between their respective countries, territories and people, in such a manner as to render the same reciprocally beneficial and satisfactory; they have, respectively, agreed to the following treaty in full.

Article I: Military Alliance

The Nahua and Confederate peoples owe each other much, as past events between our two nations have well established. Both nations have fought together against outside enemies and emerged victorious. It is self-evident that these two peoples are natural comrades and friends, and as such this treaty only formalizes the preexisting bonds which bind the peoples of the Nahua and the Confederacy.

The Nahuatl Federation and the Confederate States of America hereby agree to come to the aid of the other when requested in times of war or conflict. This alliance is both a defensive pact and military alliance.

Article II: Amity of Commerce

Furthermore, the two governments and peoples represented herein recognize the benefits which would accompany an increased amity of commerce between the two nations. As such, both parties, having determined the innumerable benefits of such action, agree to suspend all barriers to trade between the two nations. That is to say, both shall grant each other the status of a "Most Favored Nation" in the commerce between the two; such a status requires the absence of the imposition of any such barriers to free and fair commerce such as import quotas, tariffs, or other such impositions.
