On the issue of the incident the Militant Governor of Imperial (Southern) Cuba, Guillermo Pedroza, made the following statement to a military committee and (tightly controlled) press conference that was recorded for radio:
“The incident along the border line was an occurrence of security. The foreign intruders from the CSA would have been set back to the CSA after we had made sure the tourists was not an enemy spy ring. The CSA have made a mountain of an anthill and have shown once again a lack of realism in their aggression towards the Imperium of Panama, for in our judgement the innocent would be declared innocent and the guilty would be given their price. Well we ensure security for our citizens and access for goods prices to daily living the CSA is strived with chaos minded traditional conservatives who are out of touch with the realities of this cruel world. They do not provide for their citizens who starve in discipline, driven to criminal and other inferior behaviours. Our troops did their duty defending Imperial soil against what was a devilish convert team of Confederate backed marauders, perhaps members of a Bakunist terror cell for the CSA unwittingly backs Bakunism with its aggressive behaviour. Corneal Luis Wallace did his duty in his detainment of the CSA tourists for reviewing in case of epilogues and also did duty in defence of the Imperium. He, along the men and women under his command, should be hailed for their brave selflessness. Cuba should be an orderly place but we must live with the harsh realities and try to show the world that in south Cuba the true rights of being safe are upheld well, were doors can be left unlocked with no fear of thievery. The abduction of the CSA tourists by the Confederate commando team would have possibly have potential as a trial in case they decide to abduct citizens of the Imperium. As such we will promise to beef up our security measures already at heroic levels in our selfless efforts to ensure peace and stability for all the families of the Imperium. The CSA will be not pleased to know that we will not take the commando operation as an act of war but instead take it as a chance to a give a warning; future commandos attempting to conduct terrorist activities in the Imperium will be branded as criminals and like all criminals in the Imperium will be granted a swift, organised and brutal justice.”
On the international seen the Imperator herself, Jordana Vargas, has issued the following statement to the radio:
“We did not claim our rightful holding of Cubans only for the Confederacy to proclaim domination of the north, yet we will tolerate such chaos for it will be an example of how the shining light of Santiagonism stands out among a filthy sea of anarchy and darkness. The CSA should learn that any foreign persons whom come into Imperium land are granted maximum safety, as long as they are innocent. The tourist party, if it were not a group of spies plotting to spread anarchist lies and attempt acts of other evils on the orderly half of Cuba, would have been released anyhow. Our questioning is effective. However the CSA, starved of aggressive rhetoric and desire to, as my Hand of Caesar, Olga D'Cruz, stated, “become the hero of a mindless action novella” sought to take a stance most unwise plus illegal. Their actions could have cost the peace that was broken between Panama and the CSA after our attempts to bring forth Cuba into our folds, for the CSA always desired to place Cuba in a harsh dominion of their inferior empire, while we wanted to ensure the Spanish speaking populace of Cuba were safe while we also attempted to strengthen our half of Cuba in line with Panama herself. I have only one question: why the bloody hell every polity you lead must be an Imperium when no bloody person would be stupidly arrogant enough to proclaim themselves emperor/empress in a dead language? I mean, there is nothing inherently wrong, but unless you are Rome it's quite off to say Imperium and that you do it so often is beyond me.

Third please keep things to IC instead of hindering the thread with purposeless statements. Fourth: in purpose of this game can a power not take Roman inspiration for their naming?

President Featherston was quick to respond to this during his televised address to the nation.
"My fellow Confederates, the Militant Governor of South Cuba has claimed that their intentions in taking our citizens prisoner were pure, and that the Confederacy attempting to rescue our citizens who had been detained was an illegal destabilizing action which threatened our relations. That he would dare say this is disgusting! I ask the Militant Governor, who orders regular incursions into North Cuba? Who detains their citizens and the people of other nations for little to no reason? The answer is self-evident: it is Panama and the lapdogs of that illegal and evil regime which occupy and oppress South Cuba! Considering the rise in incursions by Panamanian Occupation Forces, I have ordered several divisions of the Air Force and General Johnson's 1st Army to deploy to North Cuba and increase our presence along the disputed border. Thank you, and may God bless the Confederate States of America."
President Featherston also addressed this in a radio broadcast across the nation.
"Santiagoism is not, as the Panamanians claim, a benevolent and peaceful ideology which brings peace and security to nations. No, indeed, it is an evil ideology which seeks only to undermine existing democratic governments and replace them with a dictatorship of evil. In the last year, the Confederate Secret Service Bureau has uncovered no less than five Santiagoist groups seeking to overthrow the duly elected government of this great nation. As if that weren't enough, we have found evidence linking all five to Panamanian paymasters! The dangers of Santiagoism are real, as are the dangers Panama presents to our nation. As such, I am requesting that Congress authorize the formation of a new Army and a new Fleet to help patrol the disputed Caribbean."
I suppose it could be argued that they used these titles because they wanted to allude to an extreme sense of grandeur and power. He also said part of the rhetoric is that Panama is the heir to the Roman and Spanish empires, so I suppose that could be another reason.
