Taking the surprising victory the Grand Union party’s Coşkun Bilge Ekmekçi has been elected Atatürk, his swearing in will be this monday at 9:30 am, and the current Atatürk, Barış Atilla Kartal, will step down from office, and return to civilian life, if all goes well Ekmekçi’s first action of foreign policy will be later that afternoon with the Egyptian President Akbar, and if all goes well his first diplomatic action as Atatürk will begin later that afternoon with the Egyptian President Akbar, to secure diplomatic relations and continue the friendship and cooperation between our nations.

Meeting of Great Leader Vladimir Putin and Premier Ux Battaaar Lee:





Today the two leaders of the Communist World met in Ulan Bator, Capital of the Democratic People's Republic of Mongolia. The Great Supreme Leader Putin and the Premier Lee talked about the security of the region, the imperialist acts of the Watch and about standing united with a common foreign policy for the defense of Communism. Mr. Lee and Mr. Putin signed the Treaty of Industrial Expansion. The FUSSPLR has agreed to give 1 billion Rubles to Mongolia to help them develop their industry and begin the Great Leap Forward. Also, both countries agreed that next year trade between the two countries will be expanded and that the FUSSPLR and Mongolia will stand together to defend Communism.

Restoration of Relations with Turan:

The Great Leader, Putin, has agreed to restore relations with Turan. A NAP has been signed with Turan and Mr. Putin has congratulated Mr. Coşkun Bilge Ekmekçi for his victory in the elections.

The year begins with a spate of action in Asia as a rebellion flares in China. Egypt's forces are all tied down on defensive operations in the Middle East and Europe, so a rather weak rebellion centric around a figure claiming to be Mao Zedong has risen in China, claiming their right to a China for the people. Meanwhile, spies strike the FUSSPLR and cause two Guards Battalions to desert the colors. Little else occurs in Asia save the redeployment of the Watch and Egyptian fleets off toward America or Europe, and the land transfer of Myanmar and Malaysia from Egypt to India.

In North America, Montreal, Mexico and the Wali Emirates launch a series of offensives across the board, but Montreal fails to leave a defensive reserve. The United States exploits this weakness and assaults California with its entire army, ceding all its territory and bringing its nuclear missiles to safe bases. An uprising sweeps across Wali America in the name of the "United American Syndicalist Republics" and claims their right to an independent socialist American state. Mexico sweeps up Deseret and Texas and Montreal seizes the Midatlantic. Now the powers of America face a new, greater problem - the United States Remnant is nuclear-armed and clearly willing to fire.(United States can fire nukes!)

In Europe, however, things take a turn for the bloody as the Egyptian Republic and Northern Watch invade the Commune of France. Egyptian troops storm Corsica and Sardinia, Occitania and Catalonia, and seize the mountains of Switzerland. The Egyptian Navy sweeps aside the single French frigate in their way - but before it goes, the vessel is able to slip close enough to sink Egypt's aircraft carrier.

The Northern Watch prepares to cross the channel - the largest military force to do so in eighty-one years - but first they attempt to gain air superiority by sending their air force to do battle with the French pilots. Missiles fly, cannons roar, and jets wheel around the clouds over France seeking triumph and glory. At the end of what will forever be known as the Battle of Bloody Skies, France has lost one Strike squadron, but at the counterweight of obliterating four Watch Strike Squadron and two CAS wings - almost four and a half to one. The Watch Air Force retires in disgrace.

Now all eyes turn to the cross-channel invasion as the Watch assaults the coast from Belgium to Portugal. The French decide to withdraw their defenses to a ring on the French coast, ceding Spain and Portugal, but take losses as they are driven from Belgium and Brittany. The Watch come within miles of Paris, but the French Air Force manages to throw them back into the Channel. Meanwhile, small rebellions flare up in Greece and Istanbul, but the Turan Army shows its impossibly high quality and puts them down without fuss.(France DEFCON set to 2)

It remains to be seen whether Germany will take sides in the European War, and whether Poland and Montreal shall surge to the aid of their French ally. Whether the other powers of Europe, Africa and Asia shall ignore the Watch and Egypt's casual decision to annihilate a neighboring power or assist a party in the conflict is another burning question - and one without a good answer.

The flames of world war are now rising, and the specter of nuclear Armageddon looms. If the button is pressed, there is no telling where the chain of destruction will lead.

Why invade France, what is the reasoning behind this act of aggression?

As such we cannot see them as rebels against the UMWE but rather rebels against the USA who have taken a great opportunity. We hence will consider our diplomatic options; we will consult our allies on whether to recognise the new nation or not.

Finally, we will be telling the Wali Emirates their neutral strategists will not be permitted access to France as it is currently a war zone. We will not risk the safety of those strategists only to be blamed, and in any case we do not feel it i appropriate to have outsiders in such a sensitive area at this time. We will of course allow them after the war for what limited use it will be of to them.

The UMWE will urge the new American power to not become a pawn of the Northern Watch: the UMWE offers protection to the UASR and may promise to station our navy and air force around the Atlantic to be ready to rush to the UASR's defence. We will hence not rule out either France or the Watch; the activity in America does have the marking of France with a possible communal syndicate but that could be a cleaver move by the Watch to keep their hands clean while conducting a dark act. We will keep our eyes open. At the least we are ensured that any future activity would be difficult for France to pull off; after all you have reduced them greatly and so any further act will not be by their hand... likely. We will keep our guard up in case.
